Cruisers are fun to just ride around on. I have a 93 GT Pro series 24 and a 2010 So Cal Flyer.

Yeah would probably need 24” to really be able to ride it. I guess without shocks the main applications would be jumps and ditch/ramp riding but not typical MTB trail riding u less it is pretty smooth. I just realized how hilarious/awkward it would be for coworkers or secretaries to be getting lunch and see me doing freestyle in circles in front of the Subway parking lot or 7-11, I’m almost 50.

You guys growing up in California/west coast were lucky for bmx freestyle and racing. I grew up on the prairies in the middle of nowhere and had to read BMX Action or BMX Plus in the 70s/80s to see what was happening in the rest of world, order parts from paper catalogues. No internet/computers and no cable back then in my town. Living in the boonies!

Had to do it. Shimano DX shinner circa '88? I remember everyone telling me to go to the hospital but it wasn't really bleeding, just deep and long. The scar has gotten wider with age.

Haha I did. But wasn't much good. Rode modern BMX and a few pk rippers back in the day. Worked at a shop so it was easy to pick things up over time

Yep I got those mags too. This thread brought back a lot of stuff I forgot about, I was looking at plywood and masonite ar Home Depot today lol. A couple of my ramps were in Thrasher Mag in the mid 80’s I keep wanting to find those as any old pictures are gone.

LOL you had to race against Lopes. That is like when me and my sister were on the swim team. My sis used to have to race against Summer Saunders, who went on to win gold in the olympics. She was the reason my sis stopped competitive swimming. Lopes seems like a cool guy but I never met him as I was in norCal.

I had that same seat. The post flex was a bonus but the stories that it will snap and impale you were difficult to forget completely.

Yeah Lopes was legit fast at a early age. We both loved to hit the big doubles instead of staying low and fast. Our Expert class was loaded and the Nationals were always fun.
