I have a 2013 reg cab auto 4X4. When driving in the rain, I noticed my engine compartment was getting wet. I looked in the front wheel wells and noticed the inner fender shields were missing the center piece. I took the truck back to DCH Wappenger Toyota and was told that the fender shield was an option. I asked them to order the part for me and was told that Toyota no longer makes them. This dealership is well known for blowing smoke and poor service. Unfortunately, I purchased my truck there and would think this was a warrantee issue.
Please let me know if your truck has these inner fender shields installed.

Mine has them. Not an option I noticed (I ordered the truck).

    Sounds like smoke

That's what my truck has, no other extra splash shields. Besides all of the plugs are water proof already or else everyone on the road would have electrical issues it they didn't.

I had a gen 1 with all the splash shields. Anytime I go through snow or mud, the exhaust manifold gets covered in mud. I just find Toyota cheaping out in places where rust protection is needed because everything under the hood gets wet.
I was told by a GMC truck owner that none of GM's trucks have that protection. Well big whoop! If I wanted to buy crap, I would have bought a GM truck.

Hmmm. Never paid attention to this one. Here's a photo of my wheel well after an OME Suspension install. Perhaps I had them and the installer removed them?

Comparing your photo and mine I can see your shield hangs on the hanger bracket in the upper right. I have no shield in that spot but you can see markings on that spot where a shield likely was before. I recall pushing on this wondering what it was after my lift install. It's not structural. Makes sense if it was there just to screw the shield into.

Same. I'm suspicious of the claims that folks have something different from the factory. Pics or its a figment of their imagination.

Thank you for your response. This again confirms that the service dept is run by idiots that do not know the product.

Some lift, some armor, some scratches..
Go to a plumbing supply place and buy a length of Plumber's liner, like fr a shower pan. It it thick, flexible, and durable. Cut it the the size and shape you want and stick it in there. Might have to buy a few of the those clips from Toyota. Mine have help up for several years now. I spray painted them black b/c the material is usually grey.
