Anyone else not satisfied with their 6 MT?

Agreed. Even a small turbo option would be nice. Something similar to ecoboost, except not $h¡tty

 

I loved the lockout on my saab 93. All gears were in the same position as the taco, but to get reverse you had to lift the little ring on top of the shift boot and then the lever would move further to the left and the reverse gate would be available. It made downshifts to second or first super easy because without lifting the lockout all the way till the left would be 1 and 2. I don't drive the truck that much, but enjoy having a manual again.

Mine was built in August, if there is a way to turn this beep off, I'd be interested in hearing about it. It's not the most annoying thing in the world... but it's 100% unnecessary. Like most (read; ALL) of the TSS features.

 

I am actually content with the fuel economy in the taco. But I have a little Kia optima for gas mileage. So I don't worry a whole lot about the gas mileage.

And I average 16 in town, & 21 hwy in the taco. I drive like an old lady. So this helps some I'm sure.

Don't think Jesus concerns himself with fuel economy.... But then again I haven't asked him. So I'm making an assumption.

 

Except when it's true there's rarely anymore than a few hundred NEW ones with manual transmissions for sale around the country.

If you believe in the Toyota way I would not be shocked if they shit canned the manual trans by the time the 3rd gen gets a facelift.

They did can the 5spd in the 4 banger SR after 2 years (and every single dealer ever REFUSING to even consider looking for/ordering any for prospective customers)

 

Not quite man. Around 17,500 manual tacomas sold every year or 7%.
In addition, it draws in customers looking for a manual and deciding on an automatic.
Marketing.

I'll be honest, I was considering a Nissan Frontier, but the lack of manual + 4x4 in the same package kept me in the somewhat pricier Taco segment.

Also, the Frontier hasn't been updated in nearly a decade and a half, but that's another story...

 

I would like him to turn rust to powder coat, and exhaust to NOS.

 

PRO/4X extended cab comes in M/T... in Canada at least.

It may be outdated, but that engine just felt good down low.
