Before I bought my tacoma this year and especially after, I feel like everyone and their mom is buying a tacoma. I thought these things were suppose to be rare? What is so rare about them?

    Sounds like red car syndrome.

Maybe... Just funny to see after talking to the dealer. Seems like they will tell you whatever to make you "jizz in your pants".

My friend bought one recently with a long bed. I bought mine with a 6 speed. Guys at dealer ship also told him he had a "unicorn". Until I heard that, I actually thought that was true. Now, everybody has the same vehicle as me. I want to be special and different!!! ok?!! :der:

Why did you think they were supposed to be rare? They've been the top selling mid size for many many years, it's one of the reasons they hold value so well.

Salesmen will say anything. Rare in Toyota world is a 22RTE auto pickup with power windows, not a 3rd gen.

I would love to see a transcript of the whole interaction you had with that sales douche if he told you a DCLB was a unicorn.

So let me get this straight then. These things are selling faster than they can produce them? Or Are they just actually slowing down on production? I don't think either are true. I think there are just so many variations of them, they appear to be every where. Thus, it would appear that due to such, I do in fact have a unicorn. ;)

The only 'rare' ones around here are TRD ORs, most of the '16 Tacomas are SRs. Most people don't get 4x4 around here, it's not really needed and it adds on a couple extra grand to the final price.

Half the island owns Tacomas though, so Tacomas themselves are definitely not rare around here.

Rare compared to the full sizes. The tacoma stick out more then the bland full sizes though.

Go to Oahu HI if you want to see nothing but a Tacoma driving around on the island . They joke around over there saying the state .... is the Toyota Tacoma

I was over there 2 months ago and it's like every other truck you see is a tacoma
