I would bet that there are more DC Off Road LB's produced than Limited Long Beds which are only produced for the Canadian market. If imported back to the U.S. this would be the true unicorn truck.

My son bought a 2017Tundra TRD OR yesterday. We were there for 6 hours, during that time I watched 2 Tacos sold, the dealer had 2 left on the lot.

Couldn't you tell by how active this forum is that there's quite a few Tacoma owners out there? Even dumb questions receive three pages of replies. ;)

I believe I was getting confused on the individual plant numbers. The numbers that I have seen reported are usually around 100,000/year. From reading these articles now it looks like it is around 100k per a plant given the following quote about production in the Mexico plant from the motor trend article:

"Last year, the plant built 111,000 Tacomas and 122,000 Tundras, and Toyota hopes to increase total production to 250,000 units by the end of 2016."

From that though it looks like they have been steadily increasing the amount and plan to up it by the 60k at the Mexico facility. That would be around 260k/year combined which seems more realistic.

Here are a few articles about the increase:

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
Here in Central Oregon, they are everywhere! But in my own opinion, I think the 3rd gens are the best looking Tacoma's out there. So I don't mind seeing them. still waiting to see a PRO roaming around in the wild around here!

    A) you live in California which is right behind HI as the Tacoma Mecca B) you now own the truck so you recognize it easier than before, same thing if you drove a Corolla, my ex used to be that way with her car C) its mass produced, whoever told you its rare is an idiot, there are plenty to be found, it is an expensive little truck so there tends to less of them than F150s, Silverados and Rams though.

People confuse good resale value and hard to find a good deal used / someone who's actually letting theirs go with rare.

Best selling midsize truck for many years rare does not make.

If you want rare. Try and find a Hilux within the borders of North America (excluding Mexico). Your
Taco is a rare as a Tim Hortons in Canada or Taco bell in US.
