Most of the people i know including myself have symptoms of a common cold. In my house it started from my son who most likely got it from kids in his school since other kids were out the same day he way. That spread to my wife which spread to me. Some of my coworkers are also going through this, mainly with the ones with kids.

Just checking in on how everyone is doing.

I worked in K-12 schooling and now moved to working in corrections, lol there's always someone sick. I just keep up on my Vitamin C and Zinc and wash my hands. Thankfully my office is separate from most things. My coworkers who get sick the most are the ones that forget to use hand sanitizer before touching their faces usually.

I am definitely using hand sanitizer, maybe a bit excessively (2-3 times an hour).

sometimes if these things are going to get you, you just can't avoid it

Yeah confined areas with people coughing and whatnot are usually the culprit for that, or in education... a kid coughing right in your face haha. I keep a bottle of the sani on my desk and use it only when I've returned from somewhere else in the building, otherwise I try not to just use it idly since it'll turn my hands into sand paper.

Some NASTY people out there. I travel frequently and notice many guys leave the bathroom without washing their hands...doesn't matter if #1 or #2. Gotta be clean. There is soap and water right there...USE IT. That extra 30 seconds aint gonna cause you to miss your flight, O.J..

First of all have you tested for Covid? The current strains of Covid mostly cause fairly mild cold like symptoms. Covid is still with us just not the severe disease it once was. I know 4 people in the last month who contracted Covid. All had cold like symptoms, tired and fatigued. All thought they had a cold until they tested for Covid. Even for kids colds in the summer are somewhat rare.
To avoid all viruses wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer. Avoid touching your face. The Covid virus is 90+% airborne but sanitizing hands and avoiding touching face, eyes, nose area lowers your risk for Covid and most viruses.

So i could not find any tests yesterday but i feel 10x better.

Additionally, a common cold is a virus and i can imagine covid becoming a similar thing if the symptoms i experienced were no more similar to than a common cold

Sorry Jim but I have to somewhat disagree. Covid while not the severe virus is was , it has mutated, it is still serious even life threatening to a number of people. People with compromised immune systems, people with pulmonary disease such as asthma, copd, people with heart disease such as valvular disease and coronary artery disease, elderly people etc. Covid is easily transmitted by coughing, sneezing, even just breathing, it’s very contagious. So if there is a chance a person has Covid they should test and if positive they should stay home and isolate themselves. Spreading it to those previously mentioned can mean serious illness and even death.

Yeah I got the 'vid first time couple weeks ago. Not really sick. I was hoping to never get it, but here we are.

    Mild brain fog.
Very mild runny nose, thought it was allergies. Tiny cough. Like a day and a half max. I never really slowed down.
Plus I didn't crap for 6 days. THAT was uncomfortable. I looked it up, yet it happens. Wow like a Seinfeld episode - I cleared the house......

One of my parents care givers suggested I test, or I would not have known. Today was the first day I didn't test positive. Relatives had a shitton of tests, so what they hell. Just wanted to see how long it would go.

Per new CDC, ok to mingle if symptom free and getting better...........so I didn't post for 5 days.

Some issues we have had was expired tests. Like, more than 6 months expired, it gave a false positive when testing on a new unexpired test gave us a negative. No way to know if it was a false negative and a true positive unless i test a few more times but i ran out of test.

For myself, i guess i just had a cold.

Some tests are OK a few months out, some yeah no good. But in code date, the 5 or 6 different varieties seem to work. I hate the folded card ones, when the dropper/colored strip is so much easier. Hey I'm pregnant!!

Whole family is getting over covid right now. Got it on the 5th. Fever, body aches, head pressure, and fatigue. Still have head pressure today and a small cough. Nasty little virus but not as bad as when I got it two years ago.
