Complete opposite. I HATE any alarm/lock beep. The sound of the door lock actuators locking the doors is more than enough noise for me. IMO, people with alarms that beep are inconsiderate, it's unneeded noise pollution. I recently had my battery disconnected and my alarm beeping came back. This drove me nuts and I felt bad unlocking or locking the truck because my driveway is right next to my neighbor's bedroom windows. Hate the idea that my alarm beep might be waking them up. I finally fixed it and got rid of the beep this past weekend.

How do you feel about aftermarket exhausts? I noticed you had a track car :burnrubber:

I don't mind them so long as they aren't too loud and/or the owner is conscientious enough not to start the car when it could be a nuisance to neighbors. Which isn't a problem for most of us who don't daily drive our performance cars. Plus, often you can have a very quiet exhaust upon startup that really only gets noisy at higher RPM's. The exhaust on my Integra includes a cat, resonator and full size muffler. It's fully CA legal (by a large margin) and is barely louder than stock. Also much quieter than just about any new performance car sold today and definitely much quieter than the muscle cars of yore.

Co-worker pointed out just tap the turn signal lever (don't lock lever) and it blinks 3-4 times and shuts off automatically.

With my hearing loss I'm the guy you see sometimes driving down the road with their turn signal flashing until I notice it visually and can turn it off. I wish vehicles had turn signals on a timer or they would turn themselves off after completing the turn. Its just as frustrating for me as it is you. There are others with their stereo cranked up that don't notice it either. I tend to keep my hand on the signal switch and turn it off so I don't do that as often.

I remember seeing this thread back when it was active and I couldn’t remember a single thing about it except that it was mildly funny and went a little off topic as many threads do.

So I skimmed back through to find these comments that are so snarky that they require a moderator to intervene.

Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with anything in this thread, just a few people having a sense of humor with no real insult to anyone.

If this thread bothers you, I can’t imagine how you’d do in a more average TW thread with more dedicated comedic savagery. All this place requires is a thick skin and a sense of humor, and you’ll get lots of good information.

Most of those 70's land yachts have a real satisfying blinker noise. Too bad that went away. And what is with people not using headlights after dark?

Is it because the older cars all used mechanical turn signal relays that physically clicked on and off and you heard the actual relay itself clicking from somewhere under your dash while the modern cars it's all done from the car's computer, which is why you can turn the audible up or down through TechStream? I don't know the answer but am just guessing here.

This thread ain't nothing brother! Me thinks Rasco is in for a rough ride if the comments in this thread twisted his BVD's.
