Yikes dude that sounds horrible. I know my contacts at the end of the day peel off like Velcro strips, can’t imagine scratches

I used acuvue oasis 2 for a long time the two week at a time ones and used bio tears as my solution. Never tried a different brand but probably should have.

I've worn contacts for 28 years and I've thought about the laser option recently. Mountain biking or motocross i guess I don't blink enough (especially with goggles) and I occasionally blink them out. Mine are pretty bad at -5 and -5.5 in the other but the whole laser and the forever flap freak me out.

The laser freaked me out too but I did it. I did not have the flap. I had LASEK not LASIK. Wish I would have done it years ago. The entire procedure, both eyes, took less than 2 minutes. I was -8 in both eyes. I had mono vision done. One for close one for far away. That way I won’t need reading glasses later on.

    -8?!? Holy bejeezus!
I'm -3.5 and -4.5 left and right. Also have an astigmatism. Previous scripts didn't exaggerate the astigmatism but my current one does. Hard walking thru a store - the shelf look like they're bending in, toppling over me. I hate it. Can't do shit without my glasses or contacts.
I prefer contacts - much clearer and less glare and warp-age while looking at a computer screen. Plus the whole astigmatism thing. And I can't manual focus my camera with my glasses

Been wearin contacts for 30 years. I’m 48. Pretty blind. 8.5 left eye, 7.5 right it says on the contact lenses. I am thinking about the lense implants some day.

I use the disposable contacts and usually wear them for about three months for each pack. What I do is use Aosept every night. That’s the stuff that uses a catalyst and make bubbles as it cleans. Been using it for decades. It works great. Really helps keep the lenses comfortable. Now called “Clearcare”. Would like to fix my vision some day. Kids and college first I guess. Prefer over glasses. My glasses are kinda thick.

Lasik back in 2009, still going strong. Don’t ever miss those days of glasses and contacts.

Is lasik or prk an option for you OP?

Negative. Eye muscle injury as kiddo won’t allow it. Eye doc actually hates me wearing contacts cause if I damage my primary eye I will be fucked, period.

Basically I would be legally blind if something happened to my dominant eye

Never any contacts here, just bifocal scrips. Started in my 40's...age and stage. I'm illiterate without them, unless the grandkid's book has big print!

Nephew had a type of contact implant under the cornea. Went from pop bottle bottoms to no glasses at all. Lets him be LEO, 20/20 uncorrected. Expensive, but enabled him to get the job of his dreams.

My eyes have knee-jerk reactions when I tried to apply cantacts so I just stick with glasses. Thats why I'm putting off the laser. I fear my dumbass would move and botch the procedure. Still holding out for bionic eyes.

they would have to completely put me out to do the procedure. I have zero issue putting contacts in, but if I know a laser or scalpel is coming at my eye, you couldnt keep me in the chair for shit.

I wore contacts for about 15 years. I wore them all the time even slept in them. They worked for awhile but my eyes started getting scratched all the time and the dryness was killing me. I didn't like the way I looked wearing glasses. I'm older now and don't give a shit about what I look like. It's actually quit liberating not caring about looks. I want to get laser eye surgery, but I'm scared that something will go wrong. At least with glasses I can still see and no chance of going blind.
