Ah, "the fine print" ...... but, it pretty much sums it up. We all agreed to it.

Really, I don't think any of my language in this thread is more offensive or inflammatory than I see used regularly on this site. As far as bashing another member, I guess if completely & totally disagreeing with someones point of view is bashing them then you should delete at least half of all posts on this site.

A little advice man, I'd just drop it and carry on. From my prospective though, you did bash the member directly and harshly, and not just for her opinion. What the mods did was entirely according to the forum rules.

For the record...the old timers comment was referring to the length of membership on this site.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD... let the gas pedal recall go people.

On to better things ...the elections

One Day. Just bought it 2 weeks ago with 5773 miles on it. Now have 41000+ miles and going strong.
Had mine done by David Maus in Sanford, FL the same time they did the spring TSB. Didn't even know it was done until I read the warranty paperwork. They did a great job.

I never received any notification from Toyota that this has to be done to my truck. I had my Truck at the dealership 6 months ago they said at that time, they were not doing Tacoma's recalls.

In my mind, ( since not notified by toyota) I am not part of the recall.:D

The gas pedal recall is entirely a political issue. I work as an electronic tech on city buses- when there is a problem with the "drive by wire accelerators" the bus coasts to a stop and a computer code is generated- end of story.

Regarding cut gas pedals- I paid big money for my truck and I would punch out anyone who wants to take a hacksaw to it- any part of it. I realize that it is not a big deal, but I would be reminded every time I saw it that I caved and let lawyers vandalize my truck.

I am now on my sixth Toyota vehicle and I have voted repeatedly for their engineering with my wallet. I have had a Pepsi bottle roll under my brake pedal, scary, but I dealt with it. I did not sue Pepsi or Toyota or suggest banning Pepsi.

I am a little upset that Toyota caved to US Media and lawyers, but understand they need to watch the bottom line. They are protecting the resale value of all of our vehicles.

That being said, This is my truck (free capitalist ownership)- nobody is going to modify it without my permission. If I take it to the dealer and they feel they have the right to cut my pedal without permission, they will lose a loyal customer.

Gas pedal being cut is one of the issues.
ECU flash seems to be blocking ECU from further updates. Hence Supercharger can not be installed afterward.
ECU flash...... they can and will sneak it with out you knowing.
Maybe on Christmas I will get best gift yet. Toyota TIS software . :D use that to lock ECU so they can not upgrade the code.

Sure:rolleyes:...if they can prove it was gas pedal related. They can't even prove that this trimming shit is a fix for something they haven't proved was actually a problem.

Be honest with me here folks ...... when was the last time any of us "looked" at our gas pedal (prior to all this talk)?

Straight up .... not what you think anyone wants to hear .... no peer pressure (that is a terrible thing.)

I for one never look at it.

And you are right Larry (those words don't come out often ) ... he is a great American ....especially on Constitution Day.

If you knew that it is in fact Constitution Day thank your teacher.
