Anyone else waiting for their Tacoma to arrive?

I did it with mine. I thought I used vessel finder. Once you have the ship's name your good to go. Once docked my truck was ready for pickup a day later.

 

The app called Marine Traffic. I found one that has been from Veracruz to Jacksonville to Newark and back 3 times in a row. It's currently docked in Veracruz loading up I assume. Real moment of truth is seeing where it's headed next, if not Jacksonville then Newark. Then I have no idea when my truck will make it. I'd assume it would be on that one.

 

I hope this isn't considered hijacking, I'm too damn old to know the difference, but my trucks status updated last night from build phase to in transit. I've been watching a ship in port that left a couple hours ago and is headed North. I love the Marine Tracking site, use it at times just for fun.

 

Are you in the north east? Because after being built it has to go from the factory in "transit" to the port, then gets on the carrier there

 

What's the name of the boat you see?

 

I'm in Utah, it will come through Benicia California as near as I have gathered. The ship name is the Crystal Ray, headed to Benicia Ca. Status change and destination could be a coincidence but I'm gonna say my truck is moving!

 

If it got built that quick and on the ship that fast you are one lucky guy. Mines been down in Veracruz for over a month

 

Does anyone know if there is a way to find out the location/timing if a Tacoma travels by rail from the factory vs. ship? My Taco was build on Nov 8th, but according to my salesman it hasn’t even been changed to a “processed” status yet. I’d like to follow its progress if possible.

 

It should be laid out in the process timeline that he has. But I know if it's going to the northeast it goes by ship. If it's in the mid-west I assume rail. Tell him/her to send you a picture of the timeline table.

That is correct. Mine is still sitting in Joliet, IL at the rail yard. Not sure how much longer it will take to get to the dealership.

I wonder if the problems with the Panama Canal are affecting the ship delivery schedules.

 

Nope....if I'm tracking the right vessel it should be arriving in Florida tomorrow morning then hopefully continuing up to NJ afterwards....the previous routes it took was Veracruz->Jacksonville->Newark

 

I'll ask the dealer tomorrow if any updates. The vessel I'm tracking which I believe is the correct one, is on the move so hoping it'll be in NJ sometime this week. vessel: Frontier Ace. Its previous travel paths were Veracruz/jacksonville/newark NJ. And repeat....that's the one I'm watching now. The dealer told me 2 weeks ago. "It should be here in the next 3 weeks". I highly doubt it makes it this week but honestly if it's the right vessel and the truck takes it to the dealer in a day. He could be right.

 

Put money down on mine mid august, built on 9/5 and finally showed up at the dealership on 11/19. Picked it up the next day in Oregon. Very happy with the truck and worth the wait! Good luck!

 

Update on the Truck from the dealer, it departed on 11/23 from VeraCruz. Which, also was the departure date of the Frontier Ace Vehicle Carrier. So looks like I have the correct Carrier tracked. Currently it's unloading in Jacksonville FL. Then up the east coast. It's almost here.

 

Additional Update, vessel arrives 12/1 it says and truck to dealer is suppose to arrive 11/15-12/11. So probably next week!

 

I got the same confirmation,today for my truck. Salesmen told me 2-3 weeks before it will be at the dealership.
