Anyone else's '16 a ticket magnet?

I'd say it's all in my head, but the numbers don't lie.

2005 taco: no tickets.
2012 taco: no tickets, pulled over once or twice by a highway patrolman who was my neighbor, mainly to shoot the shit and send me off with a warning.
2016 taco: Speeding ticket in Osceola for 10ish over, ELEVEN speed camera violations mailed (fortunately, the city can't enforce these). Today, pulled over while taking the girl on a hiking trip... but got off with a warning due to her excellent "people skills." 64 in an unnecessary 55 zone, his radar was spot on with how fast I was traveling. I've always had the same driving habits.

I swear to Christ, in the (less than) two months I've owned this truck, I've generated more state revenue...

It's funny you should say that... maybe it's just getting used to the feel of a new truck and her "happy speeds," but I am exceeding the posted every time I look down. Then again, I always have been.

 

I guess y'all are lucky 3rd gens don't support a supercharger.

 

Don't need those silly things. My buddy got one when we bought our second gens, and I still ran toe-to-toe with him in my M/T. Tacos aren't sports cars... they're Tacos.

In my defense, this city had the state crack down on them for making $4 million off of ONE camera in a year. That's why they're not allowed to actually collect revenue off of them any longer. It's not a speed that any sane person travels in that particular spot. That being said, the '12 never got tagged.

 

I'm not saying it's about racing and keeping up, but when you get on the pedal what do you expect?

Going to court 24 June, first ticket since 1995, speed limit changed from 65 to 55 and I got dinged for not slowing down.

And people bitch because the cruise control causes the transmission to jump around at 70+ mph.

Was doing 10 over at 65 in the HOV, got dinged about 1/4 mile where speed dropped to 55 coming off HOV so I got hit for 20 mph over.

20+ the speed limit or anything over 80 mph is an automatic reckless driving charge in VA.

 

Since you have a new vehicle, you are good for the revenue.

I drove 15-20 over in a silver Buick Regal and never popped up on a cops ''radar.''

Drive 5 under when I had my 300Z Turbo, they'd follow like I was dragging a steak behind me and they were a pack of starving dogs.

 

I run 5 mph over the speed limit and so far so good. Have not had a speeding ticket since 1997.
