To keep stuff from sliding about on the backs of the folded rear seats, you can spray one thick layer of plastidip on them, and sprinkle silicate (like kids do w/ glue and glitter) and let that dry. then spray 2-5 more coats of plastidip and you get a super nice grippy, waterproof surface for about 25 bucks.

You can easily peel it off whenever you want since the layers of dip sandwich the silicate layer in there so it doesn't come apart while you peel... unless you peel like a person who is in a huge rush.

Check out a product called Hydro Turf, its used for PWCs and surfaces of boat floors. Comes with 3M self stick and some different thicknesses and surface cuts. They have it in Grey and Black, smooth, diamond cut, waffle cut, and lined. Its closed cell foam and can be cut easily to any size and make it a sweet looking installation. You can apply with 3M Super 90 spray or contact cement if you don't get the Peal and Stick option.

    http://hydroturf.com/add_to_cart.php?cat=Sheets+of+Hydro-Turf&num=SHT86CG

They also have close out sheets which are less expensive and have limited color options.

Here it is on my boat:

Never even noticed that- Thanks! :D

The folded down seats are the ticket especially when the weather's fowl or cold. I flip them down and pile blind bags, waders, and shotguns in. The bed has the dog crate(s) and decoys. Its much nicer to put on a warm pair of waders than a wet, frozen pair but maybe that's just me. When traveling, we put luggage on one side when there is a passenger in back.

When the seats are up, the compartment behind the single seat side can fit a good sized bag to keep it out of sight when parked. Use that all the time for a backpack w/ laptop or wife's purse and close the seat over top of it rather than leaving it out for the heathens to view.

Made this for the dog, but it's really durable. I've put a few hundred pounds on it during a trip to Orlando. Dog loves it, and it still lets me utilize the behind the dose at storage without having to worry about anything. I've mad it so that the board rests on the seat anchors and made a metal clip to hold it in place in the event of a collision.

You can use off-cut scraps to line the bottom of the storage areas and to ensure the jack is silenced- it really works well for non-slip and anti-rattle. I updated the post above with links to the sheets.

had to bring like thirty pizzas to a work function and I didn't want grease to get to my seats. Folded my seats down and everything was golden. Truck smelled like pizzas for two weeks though -_-

Very nice. The mods discussed in this thread seem very useful and cost effective-my favorite kind

All good ideas, I forgot about this thread a while back and just came back to it

    Oz,

You sir are a true craftsman! Nice work! I used to do stuff like this but don't seem to find the time anymore. It's inspiring to see that level of work being done. True craftsmanship is a dying art form. Thanks for sharing!

Hmm, should just either slide right out or have the same setup as the front. I would have to have it in front of me to answer.

Most likely a push-in button on the side or front of prongs.

Normally just push the release button on the head rest base and pull up.

If the head rest was put in backwards, it will lock in place. This is how to remove it from another post:

Does anybody know why Tacomas (I'm not sure about Tundras) don't have the option for under-seat storage? I understand most trucks don't have behind-the-seat storage, but I am not sure it should be a trade-off type deal. So why don't we have under seat storage?

Hmmm? Thats odd. I DO have under seat storage. The REAR seats is what I assume you mean. Under the passenger rear seat is where my jack and tire tools are and the compartment is completely open on the drivers side. Thats where I keep my jumper cables, tow hitch, D ring shackles and such.

Sorry, I should have specified. Yes I do have those panels but I meant complete under seat storage. Since those cubbies are so small, I never put anything in them. Now that I remember they are there it makes sense, I guess Toyota chose sealed and protected storage vs under the seat open storage. My irk is that you can't slide a toolbox under the seat, so mine stays on the floorboard.
