When I was in South Africa I got bit on the ankle by something I didn't see. After a couple days I had a white nasty looking hole about the size of a nickle and my whole ankle/calf/foot was quite red and swollen. Went to the doctor there and they gave me some sort of antibiotics and wrapped it up. After around 4-6 weeks it was just a scabby scar. I think it was a violin spider, which is basically a brown recluse, or at least the same family.

Hey everyone, so far, no necrotizing. I was reading that BR bites dont always necrotize. Seems to be healing up nicely!

Back in the day I arrested a guy for FTA (Failure to Appear) in court. He was not able to put any weight on one leg and it was drawn up a couple of inches off the ground. He had been in CA trying to get treatment for the bite. All but lost use of his one leg. I called the Sheriff and got him released on PR Bond.

So like the guys have said keep pushing for treatment. Take care and good luck.
