I can see where that would make the bumps a little more harsh or bouncy due to a drastic change in rebound and compression damping......Shocks may not be load bearing but they are always working and they take a lot of a abuse. Oh, and they break sometimes.

The problem is that your shocks are outboard of your springs.

The outboard staggered shocks are a feature. They improve handling on-road.

Good to see ARB taking care of it.

Can noone else see the huge chip in the shock mount finish and dent in the shock just barely outside of center. Looks like he reversed into a rock under compression and the shaft fractured and got pinched in collapsed position.

And to add... this is why somone needs to build some shock mount armor for Tacomas. JLee... are you listening?

If the installer tightened the shit out of the lower bolts it could compress the rubber bushings so there's no give when cycling the suspension. One good flex, the mount starts to twist the shock mount, rubber is already compressed so it can't take the twisting motion and snap.

Not sure if that's what actually happened but that's how the installer could have screwed it up. With softer rubber bushings, you can't over-tighten things or they break.

OME advertises urethane bushings. Not sure if that's better or worse against overtightening when on jacks.
