Yeah for sure! And heck, if it gets beat up, it'd be pretty easy to make another one!

I saw one a while back and it did not look too bad but I have also seen a truck w/wooden running boards and it looked like crap.

Haha now that would be interesting for sure! And I feel like that would be a lot of work for running boards, which are pretty cheap!

Am I the only one who thinks the idea of a wood bumper is retarded on a Tacoma? Or any new car

Judging by the rarity of a wood bumper seen driving down the highway, it's a safe bet the answer is no.

Plus, that was a first gen, so hardly a "new" vehicle.

I doubt most people who go with a wooden bumper were concerned with it looking awesome. On the upside it will absorb some energy in a wreck. Just think of it as nature's own crumple zone.

I had a 58 willys that went the opposite direction, rear bumper was a piece of railroad track.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Has anyone ever looked at our stock bumpers? Even a wood 2x4 is stronger than them.

I saw a Tacoma with led lights in the wheel wells and under the truck a couple days ago. Now that's ridiculous. Maybe they're nightlights so the tires aren't afraid at night.

Cool, just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

So would airbags even deploy if you hit one?

Was there much of a payout then or did you make bank? Either way Im sure the insurance company probably had a double take when they found out you had a wood bumper. Wasn't there a member on here who recently made a wood bumper last year and posted pics for a second gen?

Wait so was that the settlement or what you put into for a new 2x4?
