So I was looking on carid.com today for rear bumpers with tire carriers and I came across a company called Expedition One who sells a rear bumper for 3rd gen Tacoma's with double swing arms:

    https://www.expeditiononestore.com/3rd-Gen-2016-Toyota-Tacoma-Dual-Swing-Rear-Bumper_p_56.html

they have a coupon for 30% off too which is pretty cool because the other rear bumper that I was looking at with dual swing arms was the CBI rear bumper but they recently raised their prices site wide before I could place an order. The problem is that ive never heard of Expedition One and they dont seem to be listed as a vendor on Tacomaworld, has anyone ever heard of them or tried their products before?

I wouldn’t get that one as the hitch is still located under the bumper so your not gaining any clearance like you would with the CBI and most others from the similar vendors. Makes a big difference when hitting the trails not having the hitch hanging so low. But if you don’t off road then it doesn’t really matter.

Yeah the CBI rear bumper that I was looking at was the regular version (not the high clearance version) because I didnt want to do any cutting: https://cbioffroadfab.com/product/3rd-gen-toyota-tacoma-rear-bumper-2016-current/

I like how the Expedition One rear bumper has the little mountain design and the dual swing arms look like they also cover the tailgate pretty well to protect it against rocks flying up and hitting the tailgate, it also has more lighting options than the CBI rear bumper and costs less.

The CBI rear bumper also looks pretty beefy though, the dual swing arms dont look like they protect the tailgate as much from flying rocks like the Expedition One rear bumper but I like the CBI locking mechanism for the swing arms where they lock in place when you open them up. The metal beam for the CBI swing arms also looks pretty beefy, almost like having a 2nd rear metal bumper.

Sweet! thanks for the input :)
