i have the same unit. only thing is i cant get it to record continuously. it basically stops recording when i stop the truck at like a light or stop sign. instructions are terrible. it does say in the description that it has continuous recording. does yours do the same? or have any idea how to set it so it records continuously?

    I added a bolt once...

My G1W works great, yes instructions suck...not sure how you could get it tostop at a light or stop sign???

Check to make sure you are looping and set the loop time (I use 5 min blocksof recording).
Check to see if you're recording with G-shock only (senses force).
Just go through all the settings again, while eating Chinese food, and thinkabout them.

No, mine keeps on recording as long as the ingition is engaged. That is odd. Sounds like a faulty unit. I know there were some shady sellers of that unit on Amazon. I had to be careful when ordering. Who did you buy from? Wonder if you got a dud unit.

Yeah, these units looks slick as they are quite small. The 0806 was also recently released, but pricer of course. Would do well for putting in the back for a rear view cam. I may do that later. We'll see.

yeah, its strange..it'll stop recording 2 or 3 seconds after i stop and start recording once i get going again.

so yours records continuously without interuption untill you turn the truck off? strange, ive been through the settings a dozen times and can seem to get it to work right.

im gonna run through the settings once again and see if i can figure it out.

Maybe do a reset of all the settings back to factory. I did not change much on mine from what I recall. I muted the audio recording so it's only recording video. I did try using 5-min segments but read that some units have issues with that and went back to the default 3-min interval.

ya know come to think of it, there is a setting for G-sensor and i thought that was for having the unit come on when it detected something if the truck was not running....wonder if i turn that off, it will record normally. ill have to try that and see.

That does sounds like g-shock recording only - it's picking up the motion/vibration. Double check your settings. I have my G-shock sensor set to Medium.

That setting is for marking a file as protected in the event of a crash, so it does not delete the file accidentally.

I noticed that sometimes the g-sensors can get a little sensitive so you'll have to play with the settings. I kept getting "SOS" saved videos that had nothing unusual in them. Then I realised it was from a few potholes and it thought we got hit lol.

Post this in another thread but will post here as well...

Took some pics of my G1WH setup today... damn it was cold... more pics in my gallery but here are a few.

Not as sleek and low profile as the Mobius or mini 080x series, but still good. I disabled all the beeping too so it's totally silent.

Got it figured out...WDR was on...no clues what WDR is or does and apparently neither does the manual..lol. Turned it off...continuous record. I guess WDR puts in record in motion only.

Strange... WDR is for Wide Dynamic Range... for the video quality... not sure why that would create the issue. Odd.

he can definitely have more than one truck. LOL Mods are at $10084 and going ...
I vote for Mobius. It has 1080p HD quality and many other features such as motion detection, start/stop with ignition on/off, 4 different video formats, Wide Dynamic Range, night mode, takes time lapse still photos, small size, 180 degrees video rotation, and much more. I had mine for over two years first hunting then in the truck. I am happy for $80 I spent. I attached mine to the mirror arm using a motorcicle mount. Check it out:

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
The G1W has a motion sensor setting. Turn it off. When you sit motionless it stops recording and starts up again when you start moving. Not the same as the G shock thing which I also leave off. The WDR should have nothing to do with all that but who knows what weird programming is coming out of China.
The WDR is to my understanding how well the camera handles light changes. I have mine one and it everything works fine.

    GL.
