well it stopped for a few days after they replaced those belts and pulleys so it has to have something to do with that. before it was doing it every time i would stop.. ive always thought the hpfp is a ticking/hissing noise.

No, the ticking sound at idle is the cleaning cycle, the cricket-like chirping is the HPFP.

why would it stop for a few days when they changed the belts and pulleys then?

On my own truck the chirping comes and goes, can be days or weeks between. Maybe your truck experienced the same, you can do a Search on here or YouTube to listen to other Tacoma's to hear if your truck is making the same Cricket Chirping sound.

I'm not buying that. It was doing it literally every single time i drove, they change those belts and pulleys and it goes away immediately, it has to be connected somehow. I'll reply at a later date with what the dealer says.
