Anyone familiar with gas logs??

We have been in our new house for about a month and just turned on our gas fireplace as well as our free standing unit in the hallway. After running both units for a few minutes the main burners will cut off. The pilot light stays lit through this. I can turn the dial up higher and they will come back on. I don't have a manual for either of these so I don't know where to begin. They are both ventless systems. Does anyone have any ideas?
