Looks identical to smittybilt and ARB, just half the cost. Too good to be true?46244E98-011B-4EC5-92B6-80E388E9FF31.jpg

Yes. I watched a youtube review on one of these Chinese awnings not too long ago and they definitely weren't the same as the ARB. The reviewer said that for his purposes it would probably work but it wasn't made as well as the ARB and it didn't have the attachments for the ARB screens and tents.

Ok, so I bought this awning and it installed and set up real nice. The only issue was that every video I ever saw about any awning had the zipper on the bottom of the bag. So thats how I installed it. Wrong. Turns out this awning was designed to have the zipper on the top of the bag.(Or it was assembled bassackwards). Hopefully this won’t turn into a water intrusion/mildew issue. Haven’t taken a beach trip with it yet. That will be the acid test so to speak. Planning on putting the legs in buckets filled with sand to hopefully keep it stable in the wind. Its my first awning, so i have no point of reference as to quality vs an ARB, but for $120 I figured it was worth a shot. 06BB3300-0665-4B73-8545-6DE9E1AD95EC.jpg9A0E1606-9326-41A4-9744-CF45FF127919.jpg

Update/Post-mortem. Well not quite that bad. Took it to the beach set up was a breeze. Posts in sand buckets, ratchet straps from the legs to the bucket handles kept it rock solid, even as the wind started to build as the day went on. Did I say wind? Time to leave and the once gentle sea breeze had turned into 20kts off the water steady. I’m by myself. Long story short, the awning ends up on the roof of the truck, one leg bent 90deg. Lesson learned. In the wind, you need two people to safely take it down.

Isn't the bag secured to the aluminum backing using the mounting bolts on a lot of these awnings? If so, I'd think you should be able to flip the bag over so rain wouldn't get in the zipper.
