In the winter time between engine oil and tranny gear oil it's an easy 2 mpg because dino oil gets so much thicker under 20F. In the warm weather the difference seemed to be maybe 0.5 mpg. Most of the benefit is cutting out the high fuel use at cold start.

This truck is very picky with wind. All it takes is a 5 mph headwind and it starts dumping gas. Mine also has moods; if I push it really hard it won't let me back over 20 mpg for about 50 miles.

Since I probably won't be pulling much more than a small jon boat this summer I'm starting an experiment with a stealthed upper grille block. Lower grille is still wide open. I wouldn't try this without the UG though, especially in the heat of summer. Need to more closely monitor temps (and listen for the fan) and the alarm feature means peace of mind.

I was getting consistent 19-21 mpg for the last 5 years until I installed the front diff and axles...now i'm getting around 17-19 with the extra weight.

Ive been getting this for the last year since I cleaned the fuel system and switched to non-ethanol gas. Just a little quirp of mine I check it every time I fill up and it has been consistant. I know it sounds crazy. I divide the miles driven by the gallons it takes to fill up and I never let the tank get below half full.

First fill up on my newly acquired 08 4x4 TRD sport was 19mpg. I figure I could hit 20 if I had less idling and stop/go

Ever since getting the UG my mpg has jumped from barely getting 400 miles to a tank to almost 500. I commute 90 miles a day mostly on I-95. I slowed down from 75mph to 65-70 and try and follow the big rigs. That gives me and average around 28mpg. Of coarse it drops once you hit the stop and go traffic in town. The real time gauge is a game for me to see how high I can get it.

Now if you would drop to between 55-60 mph you would probaly get the 30 mpg im getting. But on I-95 I know thats almost impossible to do since you would get run over.

    Yeah.
Drafting other vehicles on an interstate can significantly increase your mileage. I used to drive from Austin to Denton every Friday afternoon (my fiance, now wife of 20 years lived in Denton), a little over 200 miles. I had a '92 base pickup, and most of the time it would burn about 2/3 of a tank. On TX/OU weekend, it was basically a solid line of cars all the way to Dallas, and I only burned 3/8 of a tank!

What is your MPG on a tank ? Doesn't really matter what you get for a 5 mile stretch at a time .

I just had 381.2 miles/Tank. or 21mpg. Double checked my miles that I wrote down from my last fuel up. I have run 19-20 before but right after putting in the cleaner. This is the most Ive ever had.

Been running Shell 91 E0 and Lucas oil fuel system cleaner every 1-2 months. I have been driving about 80% highway around 80-110 Km/h

I use to run 87 E10-15 and averaged about 15mpg and at worst had 13mpg.

Are E0 stations labeled as such? I haven't seen one not E10 for a number of years in my state so I'm curious.

Oh snap! I'm going to be passing by one of those stations tomorrow!

Thank you SO much for that link.

edit: no wonder I didn't know. No labeling requirement in Michigan whatsoever unless it's E85.
edit2: that place just went out of business. POO.

I just filled up today. 334.6 miles on 16.6 gallons = 20.16 mpg. This was probably 75% highway driving at 65 mph. I've been concentrating on keeping my right foot VERY light.

If I stay at or just below 2000 rpms I can get 21 to 22 mpg with mine ('09 Tacoma TRD, 4.0L with auto trans.) Checked this to and from Sacramento and Chandler AZ from San Diego, CA. Around town mileage is of course worse.
