The local gas station here doesn't even give you the option of regular gas anymore, everything contains ethanol.

Speaking of which, they are building a cellulosic ethanol plant in the next own. Purportedly, it will be almost energy self-sustaining as it will generate most of the energy (25 Megawatts) it needs from the processing itself and is planned to produce 25 million gallons of ethanol from 315,000 tons of crop residue a year.

The plant is bringing in several much-needed jobs too. The only drawback is that it requires huge amounts of water, in an area that is fast becoming a desert (of course, the corn farmers next door use just as much water).

Broke 20 again today, first time with the new wheels and tires. 20.2 Not bad considering I don't drive a lot of hwy miles.

Can you tell when summer gas and warmer temperatures started here in NC? :D

I think I could get 20+ mpg if I drove 60 mph.... That is dangerous here in oil patch Texas. At the very least I would have to be replacing a windshield every 6 months.

I am still averaging 30 MPG on the flat(highway between 55 & 60mph) with the only modification of a K&N air filter and NON ethanol gas.

I have a 2009 Access Cab Prerunner (stock) and use Mobil 1 oil. I now have over 76,000 miles and continue to get between 19 and 21 mpg. I have been reading the posts about using non-ethanol gas. I might try that and see if I can squeeze another 1 - 2 mpg out of a gallon

I got 24.6MPG highway from reno nv to san diego ca fully loaded. Roughly 70MPH the whole way. Most likely due to headwind/tailwinds. On the drive up I avg about 21MPG.

I think I can get 18 mpg avg in the 15-20 year life of the 4.0. I think that's realistic with all the varying uses it will be subjected to.

Im not sure for the mixed driving. I live in the country on a rural 4 line highway, go down driveway and get on highway. And that also takes me to work. Dont go to the big city much.
