Did you recalibrate your odometer / speedometer for the new tire size? If not if are actually getting better than 19 MPG because you are traveling further than your odometer shows.

No. I factored in a 1.1 multiple for my mileage because against GPS my odometer was off 1 mile for every ten. So say I get 268 miles to a tank... I simply add another 27 miles and do the math vs gallons.

If I fixed my odometer...my warranty would be up by now. :)

If I hadn't...it usually shows something like 16 or 17 MPG... which I think is where alot people go wrong calculating their gas mileage with 285s

Over the last 3 months I've averaged 22.3 mpg overall. I'm happy with it.

    I'm getting 20 to 21.8. (without towing).

It was a touch less before the first oil change.... or so it seems.

Over nine fill ups I am averaging 20.31 with a low of 18.12 and a high of 22.26. Much better than my previous truck that got 11 (+/-) city and 15 highway.

Just got 22.85 MPG on a trip from Knoxville, TN to Albermarle, NC. I used 93 octane Shell gas and ran about 5 mph over the speed limit. This route takes you over the Appalachian mountains, so I think I can better that on flat land.

I get 17in town, 21-22 highway and 19 or so mixed. I am pleased with it since it is four wheel drive.

100% right if you have the driving style to take advantage of it; the truck gets best mileage between 35 and 45 mph. With warm fluids, summer air, a smooth foot, and flat ground, instantaneous mileage should stay between 30 and 40 mpg at those speeds with the 4.0L, regardless of which transmission is in the truck.

I'm on my 4th tank now, the first I didn't check, the second was 20.3 and the third was 20.1. Mix of rural/highway and limited amounts of city/farm roads.

Check out Fuelly.com. It gives a great representation of what people are actually getting. Appears to me that the majority of people get right in the stickers range, all dependent on driving highway/city and more importantly, driving style.

If your driving 35 or 45 mph ahead of me, I'm either pissed or passing!

Got my first oil change yesterday. Switch to semi-synthetic (which I don't expect much of a mileage different, if at all), and they filled the tires. I didn't realize they were doing the tires until he got to the last one, and I was going to say something, but then I thought since I'll be doing a lot of highway over the next little while, I'll leave it, and see if it makes much of a difference. The psi suggested by Toyota is 29, but I know the place I go to usually pumps tires to 34 psi.

I was referring to in-town driving, not highway or interstate.

A third of my commute has a PSL of 45 or less, so it applies.

Maybe you are like the guy this morning that passed me and 2 others in a rage in a no passing zone in a posted 45 where we were all going 50. That idiot came to the same red light just like the rest of us a 1/2 mile later after hitting probably 65-70 to tuck it in while forcing someone headed in the other direction onto the shoulder.

I watched that idiot riding my ass while swerving across the center line head cocked looking for a window for 2 miles before he made his frantic but ultimately pointless move.

I'm tired of douchebags like that. I've seen too many almost kill someone doing that. Now I'll call 911 and let them know there's an aggressive driver. Cops would only do something if they're in the area, but if they're later involved in an accident or a road rage, there's now a record of aggressive driving.
