With 275/70r17's and 400 ish pounds of tools in the bed, I'm still averaging between 18 and 20 mpg's. Lots of stop and go, but also lots of 55 mph two lane roads. Been getting real close to 20 mpg's over last 4-5 tanks, we always have shitty gas down here, all full of ethenol. Prices have been good tho, almost under 3 bucks a gallon now.

    I WISH!!!! no i don't i shift at 2 grand, 2200rpm max,

always cruise at 100kms/hr on the highway

and run gentle on the thottle

I'm going to try driving it like i want to (3 grand shifts and more throttle input) and see what changes

Also check this out --------> http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/tacoma/2013

20 mpg with a 4.0 4x4 6 speed is a mythical creature. 19.6 is the best I have ever gotten. They weren't joking with the 14 and 18 on the sticker.

17 is what I am getting now. I'm not getting on it hard either. I changed air filter and cleaned the MAFS, so it may be a little higher now. I'm checking this tank to see.

i learned that with our trucks when filling up, when the pump clicks off its about 3 gallons short of full. pull the pump out to where it wont automatically stop itself and you will get 100 more miles out of a full tank then what you were getting before.

Correct my math if I'm wrong here, but even at 20mpg, you would only get an additional 60 miles per tank...????

Quick edit, when stock, I was able to knock down 21 mpg once or twice, 20 all the time. Trying to stay away from lift and mud tires as long as possible, these here Goodyears probably have 40000 miles left on them. Just about the time right for a lift and 33 inch tires.

I got 24 a few times when I worked 18 miles from work all rural roads, avg 23. Get about 21.5 hay now and I work 3.7 miles from home now and usually avg little better than 19 but I am spending half as much on gas now so ill take an mpg cut

23.45 mpg is the best I have gotten so far. That was mostly interstate roundtrip Knoxville TN to Atlanta GA, and a little around town in Atlanta. My truck is stock '12 V6 4x4. I ran moderate highway speeds around 65mph. I run Shell 93 octane fuel, and Mobil 1 5w30 synthetic oil. I inflate the tires to factory reccomended pressures.

    None yet.....
I usually see 16-17 MPG out of mine, but I have yet to really take it on a long highway run. Most of the time I'm driving through shitty California traffic. I can also add confirmation that the autos do better than the manuals. I have a 2006 Access Cab 4x4 4.0 Auto I drive for work, and I usually get 19 out of it.

I've read so many posts about cleaning the MAF sensor, I guess I'll have to try it on mine.

My truck gets about the same mileage whether i'm driving around town or on the highway. Best I ever saw was just over 18, i'm normally around 17. Was as low as 13.5 when I was trying to go 90 for an hour or so on a new Texas Tollway.

Just drove from Philly to the St. Louis area and averaged 21.7 mpg. I'm happy with that.
