3" ToyTec coilover lift on Bilstein 5100s, Total Chaos UCAs, ToyTec diff drop, Scangauge II, 4D MagLite mounted on the drivers seat, Painted engine cover, Painted calipers (red), Painted skid plate (red) Valentine 1 radar detector hard wired, Damplifier Pro on the floor, back wall and doors, Luxury Liner Pro on the floor and doors, Kenwood DNX8120, 2 Pioneer TS-SW1041D 10" shallow mount subs, 2 Pioneer PRS-D4200F 1200W amps, Mr Marv sub enclosure, Hybrid Audio Clarus 6.5" components in the front doors, Alpine 5.25" coaxials in the rear doors, A.R.E. LSII fiberglass tonneau cover, All Pro bumper, All Pro sliders, Wet Okole seat covers, Sockmonkey Mountain badges, PIAA 510 SMR Driving Lights, Warn M8000 Winch, Bud Built skids
The 5100s can be used to lift your truck by itself up to 2.5 inches - that's where the 2.5 comes from. The OME coils will lift your truck 3", so you would just set the 5100s to stock height (no lift). So you get the full 3"...

    Make sense?

Jeez, now I just read that the 5100's for the rear are different then the front and only go up to 1 inch of lift! So how would they work with 2 inch AAL's?

Oh okay Texan. Is that the same with the rear then as well? Just set the rear at 0-no lift and the AAL would do the rest of the work? Also, does that mean I could raise the front even more with the 5100's and the OME coils? I am looking at a full set of Bilstein shocks on ebay. The front shocks are 5100's part #F4-BE5-C477-TO and the rears are 5100's part # F4-BE5-C478-TO. Would these work with the toytec 885 kit and would all the parts work together? And if they do I'd rather get them off ebay because I could get the whole set of 4 (front and rear) for the same price of just getting 2 of the N140S's for the front from toytec.

No, the rear 5100s don't provide any lift - they just ride a lot better than stock (or so I hear - haven't put mine on yet). So it's the AAL that provides the lift in the back.

As far as the front, you should never "stack lifts". So, don't set the 5100s to anything higher than "stock". It's the coils that will give you your 3" of lift. Plus, you shouldn't go over 3" in the front or you could have problems with your CV joints.

Oh okay so will that set I am looking at on ebay work for me? Like will all the toytec parts and bilstein parts work together without any problems? I can get the set of 4, 5100's front and rear for $279 with shipping. Is that even a good deal?

Yes, it's a good deal. Many of us on this site order our 5100s from Sonny at Down South Motor Sports on Ebay. You can even make him an offer. As long as it's reasonable, he'll bite. I paid $269 and I've heard that some may have paid as little as $260. So, make him an offer and see what happens.

Are you still looking at the OME kit from ToyTec or how about the adjustable coilovers designed for the 5100s? My suggestion would be the OME shocks if you are looking at the OME spring lift. But if you want the 5100s, go with the adjustable coilover from ToyTec. It's the kit I'm running and I love it! But, based on feedback on this site, I wouldn't pair up the 5100s with the OME springs.

And if you really want the OME coils, just get them and the front OME shocks. Replace the rear shocks later with 5100s if you want. You don't have to do them all at the same time.

But, you're better off spending just a little bit more up front by getting the right things rather than having to spend more later to replace parts that aren't working well together.

Where in NV are you? I know the Discount and Big O tires in Henderson won't install a lift and don't even have the machines to do an alignment. I'd suggest you check out an off road store like 4 Wheel Parts or another specialty store, most price match so if you find a deal online just print it out and take it to them.

Oh okay. I was looking a the adjustable coilovers on toytec and they are almost $500 just for the front! That means I would still have to get AAL's for the back! Yeah I was still looking at getting the 885 OME kit from toytec. So your saying it wouldnt be a good idea to pair up OME springs with the 5100 bilsteins for the front huh? Jeez, theres a lot for me to learn! The only reason I was asking if the 5100's would work with the 885 OME's is price wise. The N140S Are like $299 for 2 but theres that set of 4 5100's on ebay for $279. Man, what to do!

Im running the 5100 Bilstiens in the rear with 2" lift, and no issues what so ever.

No worries - I was in the same boat as you just a month or so ago - learning all this too! But talking to guys (and gals:D) on this site, I learned a lot.

I know the adjustable coilovers are more expensive that just the springs, but they are designed for the 5100s.

If I were you, I would get the OME kit you were looking at then the OME shocks and lift the front. You will be much happier with it. And if the OME kit comes with an AAL, go ahead and install that too to get the rear lift. But there is no need to replace the rear shocks when lifting the rear. So, you can always pick up a pair of rear 5100s for probably $120 or less in a month or so.

I lifted my front and haven't done anything to rear (still stock) and I'm doing just fine. I have the stuff to lift the rear, I just haven't done it yet...

Oh so the rear stock bilstein shocks dont need to be replaced if I install the AAL's? Or should I just install the 5100's for the long run, would that be better for my truck? Or would it not make a difference? Hey chris4x4, do you get a better ride with the 5100's in the back instead of the stock shocks?

The 5100's give a MUCH better ride than the stock shocks, or OEM Bilstiens.

Hey chris4x4 these are the 5100's I am planning on buying.... For the front, part #F4-BE5-C477-TO and the rears, part # F4-BE5-C478-TO. Are those what you have on your taco? Oh and I'm still going with the 885 OME's from toytec.
