Anyone Get These Messages When Attempting to use Crawl?

The last two times I have attempted to use Crawl, it shuts off and I get the following messages:

    20210901_080248[1].jpg 20210901_080250[1].jpg

I took it to the dealer and they told me they only found "history" codes and they reset it. I tested it after I picked it up and boom...it happened again.

I know Crawl is tied to the brake system and they replaced my rear drums (which BTW are warped again after 1 weekend) so maybe they messed up a sensor?

    Anyone experience this?

Anyone knowledgeable at what would cause this cuz the dealership isn't trying to hard...

***EDIT*** I was in 4LO and everything works for about 2 seconds before this happens. It seems to occur once the abs cycles.

***EDIT*** Took it to a local shop and there were two current codes: P157800 and C1380

I don't see the 4WD and 4LO indicator lights on. Are you in 2WD? You need to be in 4lo for Crawl Control to work.

Yes, this was after I took it out of 4LO.

Looks like something to do with the radar TSS sensor?

That part confuses me as well because it works as designed with no hiccups when not attempting to use crawl mode.

VSC and Crawl Control use the same wheel speed sensors as the ABS system. Replacing the drums wouldn't disturb the sensors or wiring in any way. However, drums aren't known to warp. Are you sure that's all the dealer did?
Check the invoice. Did the backing plates or axle shafts get replaced? Even if it's warranty work, the invoice should itemize the work done and part numbers installed.
Do you get any "above-normal" level of sponginess in the brake pedal, indicative of air? Yes I know the pedal feel sucks in the TRD OR when the system is normal.
Is the E-brake handle stroke about the same as before? (In case the shoes aren't properly adjusted.)
Do you get any spurious ABS activation in normal driving?

The pre-collision system doesn't work if your brake system has faults detected like these.

Yes, the service write up was replace drums only and no other work was done.

    No sponginess.

I don't know for sure on the e-brake, pretty much feels the same.

    No on any ABS activity.

What were the history codes? I would expect wheel speed sensor/wiring issues to otherwise cause ABS faults in normal street driving, which isn't happening here. This needs to be diagnosed properly. Take it to another dealer. Reproduce the problem with the technician on a ride-along if necessary.

I truly wish I could...I live in BFE and a trip to another dealer is a trip to another State and a day off work. I started seeking more answers by emailing the service manager so I have something in writing.

P157800 is just an umbrella code for brake system issue. Once C1380 is resolved, P157800 should clear.

C1380 is interesting. I've attached the FSM pages. If you have a test light and multimeter, you can follow the diagnostics to isolate the faulty component.

Since you have a double cab, did you have any leaks at the 3rd brake light?

    Thank you very much!

No leaks at all that I have been aware of.

One caveat: 2020+ wiring and connector pinouts may be different from 2016-2019 trucks.

You can get a Techstream daily subscription. But check a few connector plugs first. The stereo/nav system had an architectural change in 2020. Core systems like the brakes may have had more carryover. Since your truck is still under warranty, I would be mindful of out of pocket expenses.

Might have something to do with the crawl control TSB 0045-21 for 20 & 21 MY.

Does abs work normally. Like hitting brakes on gravel does abs kick in or pop a code/error.

I have not tried....I can try this weekend.

I was able to get the dealer to take the truck after the holiday since tech who can work on it is off and give me a loaner so they can hopefully figure it out. Fingers crossed.
