Hey! I always fill the tank up when I pump gas and make sure not to overfill. Once it clicks I'm done! Anyways...my most recent fill took the average amount of gallons to fill(in this case 17.891 gallons according to the receipt), but I noticed when I started the truck it said I had 402 miles to empty!

I've had the truck for a little over 4 years and it consistently says between 360-370 miles to go when I fill-up. Not sure how I gained 40 miles, but I'm kinda worried about running out of gas if both the digital display and needle(it also showed over F) are incorrect. Any thoughts?

I think the computer figures the miles to empty based on your previous tank’s mpg. Did you get really good gas milage on the last fill up?

I think the total milage to empty is always different. Its different number in summer, winter, and is based overall MPG. It will adjust once you keep driving it, there is no way you could have overfilled 40 mile extra fuel. Showing over the F is also fine, all are like that.
