It's cute you think I'm annoyed.

And I don't see how I have a bad take.

I have my opinion, and I'm entitled to that. You don't have to agree, but you also don't have to be a dick about it, yet here we are. :cookiemonster:

I thought we were just having a discussion like the whole point of a forum to share opinions and experiences and give ideas and have fun.

    I'm having fun.

And I'm not "HaTiNg On ThE KaY-bRo-TwO" because it's cool I had a bad experience and I was sharing that experience.

    :duh:

When I had my ko2s, they were pretty much brand new and not many people had run them, I decided to give them a try and be a guinea pig because I liked my original KO so much, and I never said hating on them was one of my grievances, if you actually read my post I think my legitimate grievances were well detailed there, I ran them for approx 30k miles.

    Didn't work out for me.

Maybe I missed the memo when we switched over to an echo chamber where everybody has to like the same thing and have the exact same experience because everyone operates under the same conditions?

Lastly I don't see how my personal experience can be an untrue claim.

    :notsure:

I’ve gone to the Arctic Ocean and back, driven shale roads, rough trials, gravel miles for days, and endless highway miles, on k02s.

They deserve their popularity. Never had a flat, never had an issue. They chip minimally, and resist sidewall punctures when aired down. They are shitty in the winter, and shitty in mud, so I run snow tires in winter and use lots of throttle in the mud holes.

They are a good all-rounder. Durable, long-lasting, and quiet. No good in the winter, mediocre in mud, but true to their name “all terrian”. A Jack of all trades and master of none, other than maybe being the best option on gravel roads.

And they don’t pull to the right due to tread design errors like the Cooper ST Maxx. Those musta been designed by a engineering co-op student or something. :p. I like the ST Maxx, and may try them out next, but will be expecting alignment issues due to their crazy asymmetrical tread that pushes the truck to one side.

Anyways……interested to hear more about this new BFG offering. May put them on the wife’s Camry.

Interesting that it’s offered first in the stock Tacoma OR size and is shown on a TRD wheel. They know their market.

I wish I was as cool as you. Do you feel like you have to compensate for how much people like them by talking so negatively? You evenmade fun of the fact so many people like them because they look cool. What's wrong with that? Modding trucks for looks is half the fun

calling the Ko2s “junk” is untrue. You said they were quieter than the st maxx, completely untrue. Hybrid terrains are a lot noisier, I’ve run both. Saying the ko2s are “terrible off-road” is untrue. They are completely adequate in most regards. Every tire has strong points and weak points. When it comes to tire many things are objective. It’s ok to be wrong.

I personally have not had any pulling issues with my Coopers. They maybe drifted slightly to one side in the beginning but that could be explained by road crown or worn suspension components as it seems to have been completely rectified after I replaced my inner and outer rods, ball joints, and went to poly bushings and got a proper alignment at a shop that specializes on off road high caster alignments.

I don't know how to explain this to you. But other people experience the world differently and have different opinions that may not match yours.

"Junk" here is an opinion, in my opinion, (I suspected that was a given because we're on a forum, but...) In my opinion the ko2s were junk to me.

And from my experience the coopers are quieter than the BFG's were on my truck, have you driven my truck and borrowed my ears?

    Didn't think so...

Terrible off road again, my opinion, the were awful for me I got stuck all the time with them on dumb things.

I agree with your last statement that's why like I've been saying it depends on your use case and terrain, my personal environments and the trails that I've run the ko2s were not doing it for me.

Not sure how else to put it.

I was interested mostly because of the weight being the same or slightly less than the stock tires that came on my truck. I think they are 34-37 pounds per tire and have a good look IMO. I've read a lot on here about people complaining about the heavier tires effecting the trucks performance

I can confidently say, you do feel the weight of heavier tires. My truck has never been so “sporty” as when it was on the stock wranglers.

I wish I was half as cool as you seem to think I am, by the way you dropped this: "/S".

Yes modding trucks for fun is half about the looks, if you guys actually read my comments, I've already stated that.

I've done a great number of mods just because I liked the look of them. And I personally did not like the look of the ko2s after a while, why is that a problem?

I'm not saying anyone has to agree with me I'm just sharing my honest feedback experience and opinions.

Apparently it's a crime round here to not go with the herd.

I didn't make fun of them because everyone had them, I said one of the reasons I decided I didn't like them was because everyone started to have them, but that was secondary to their performance, quantified, a personal opinion, I got them for their expected performance which they did not meet and that's why my opinions of them changed.

Is it so wrong to be different?

Maybe you need to check why that offends you so.

Do you guys just not know what an opinion is?

I don't know if I would go that far, but, I'm not going to stop you either!

    Just prepare for the :crapstorm:

    As for the second statement...

Well, all I'm going to say is that the vast majority of folks I run into and meet up with who say "This is my first time out with the TW boys and hitting a real trail!" are running KO2s, and then I watch them struggle, and sure a lot of that is just not knowing how to read obstacles and pick a line, that's something I'm still working on my as well and probably always will be...

But then the majority of the guys who lead the pack with their scraped up, dented, trail rigs, climbing up shear clifts, well ain't none of them on KO2s!

I was one of those greener than spring kaybrotuew dudes on my very first trail once upon a time too.

Genuinely, I'm not hating, it's an okay tire, it just did not perform to my expectations and I was disappointed with it, and maybe a little agitated because I rode those paint shakers for 30,000 miles thinking I had some other balance issue but it was gone with the Maxx's

My biggest issue with the KO2 is the blind cult like fallowing.

    o_O

Hell, a bunch of the OG's and mods around here aren't even running Toyota's anymore let alone Tacoma's. There's no reason to be brand loyal.

If something's working for you, great but don't get pissy with someone who says it doesn't work for them when they tried it.

    :bananadance:

If the same shit worked for everybody we'd all be Jeff Bezos.

As is most people are just Bozos.

It's funny how a tire that works so well for 90% of the people who use it can be considered junk by a handful of people.

I had KO2's for 29K miles and they were good in any situation I expected them to be good in. They had 80% of their tread left when I bought my 285's and are still working just fine on my buddy's Ranger.

Every tire will have complaints. Even the precious Wildpeaks have balance issues occasionally and are heavy as fuck.

There are plenty of great tire options right now. I certainly won't claim that KO2's are the best tire available. But, they surely aren't junk.

I should add that it seems like most of the people who really dislike the KO2 had them in load range E. I suppose it's possible that the rubber compound for those ones is different, causing some of the complaints. :notsure:
