So someone would put this in there own car... for someone who prob has no idea what it is to press if he/she has been drinking too much????

 

It's definitely an aftermarket custom mod. Cupholder illumination has been done a bunch of times, and it would appear in this case someone customized a switch to control the cupholder bulbs.

as for the switch, it looks damn near factory with the rounded edges. is there normally a different switch there?

No....for someone who may think of stealing the vehicle, they would have to press this to complete the ignition sequence. By having it marked as it is....it's unlikely they would look to this switch.....Decoy
