Anyone got the new secondary air injection service bulletin?

I received another letter from Toyota on the secondary air injection system. The first letter had secondary coverage for 10 years or 150,000 miles. This letter states that the system is covered 10 years from Feb of 2019 and unlimited mileage. That is comforting.

 

Does the letter specify to which model years it applies?

 

I got one. Pretty impressive they're warrantying any moving part like that for 10 years unlimited mileage as a manufacturer defect.

I have a 2012 and got the same letter.

 

I received that as well. I didn’t open it and forgot about it. My 2012 AC threw the code today. I shit you not.

Primary coverage ends in Feb 19

Secondary coverage is good for 10 years from date of first use.

So take the date of first use (vehicle registered) and add 10 years.

It is nice that they are doing even that, and have no mileage cap.

 

I got my letter and mine was already replaced once.

 

Did they just replace with similar parts and add the cover?

 

I got the notice this week as well. Haven't ever had the CEL come on yet but it is good to know we are covered.

 

So it only applies to 2012 when I think 2012 to 2015 has same part?

 

2012 pump only runs at startup. 13-15 runs when you shut the truck off too. This is supposed to clear moisture better than the 2012 design. I don’t think it makes that much difference. Still here plenty of 13-15 failures. Bad idea to put the system on the trucks in the first place.

 

I have a 2012. Replaced under warranty at 65k. Gotta love these 10 year rules...

I didn't get anything in the mail, but I have been toying with the idea of just bringing mine in to have it looked at as well as to have one of those covers installed.

 

I bought one of those covers. Around 35 bucks from the dealership. Just thought I’d try it. Maybe it will help.

 

By any off chance do you know the part number for that cover?

 

Anyone confirm if this is 2012 only yet?
