Background: 11.5K miles DCSB, 6-spd manual with URD short throw I installed at about 500 Miles.

Was making a U-Turn out of my dead end street and after taking the truck out of reverse and trying to go to first, the stick just went limp. Well Shit, maybe one of the set screws came out like I read about when I installed it, but I'm sure I set them well.

Luckily I was at home and was able to quickly tear it down. Lo and behold, the set screws were fine. But the ball at the bottom that the extender connects to completely sheared off!

I'm pretty sure warranty won't cover this one, because I used an aftermarket part here. I'm not sure if I did something wrong on the install to cause this, not sure what I could have even done.

Anyone else ever had this issue? I tried searching but every thread I found was about shift knobs...

$350 and about an hour labor later, just got my TRD shifter installed after a nice relaxing vacation.

The TRD shifts (from what I remember from 2 weeks ago anyways) a bit better than the URD ever did.
Shifts seem mostly the same length, maybe a little bit longer than the URD, but not too noticeable.
Should have just gotten the TRD in the first place.

Do they sell one for the 5 speed? I'm really not a fan of how my truck shifts.

I've had this happen in one car ever. But it took me flipping it 3 times head over heels at 90mph to do it. I hear URD has good products but a shifter shouldn't break under normal use ever.

    Lots baby!
I have installed several in X-Runners. I have not seen this problem in person. I have only seen it on this site.
