2” front and 1.5” rear, had to take mud flaps off cause they rubbed on them, and maybe on hard bottom outs while turning. Not bad and often enough to require immediate attention, but will get to in future. I think it barely touches the front plastic piece slightly protruding from the bumper on the front side. Maybe a teeny bit of plastic fender liner but not sure. No CMC needed.

I've been happy with my 255/85 R16 Mastercraft Courser CXT's, about 20k miles on them, one midwest winter, and two trips to Moab. I wanted the ST Maxx's but wasn't able to get them before my first Moab trip. I believe they are a sort of hybrid between A/T and M/T, marketed as a commercial grade tire. They are E-load but with a 2 ply sidewall, unlike most of the M/T's in this size that are 3 ply sidewalls. Full depth siping so they're decent in rain and snow. Have held up great and seem to be wearing well. Noise isn't bad at all, definitely not as bad as an M/T. I got the rokblokz mudflaps with the cutout for the cab mount that work with the tires. I did have some very minor rubbing on the stock UCA, which is due to the aggressive side lugs is my guess. I just left it as is since it doesn't happen during 99.9% of normal driving and wasn't a hindrance when wheeling.

I bought 17” 4Runner SR5 wheels for $150, 255/80r17 are less expensive than 255/85r16 and open up a lot more options in the skinny 33” size. The Falken AT3W is noticeably lighter and smoother than the Cooper ST Maxx, plus they are $1050 vs $1300.

…and no rubbing at all, even fully articulating with the wheels turned on moderate trails. The key is to use factory Tacoma or 4Runner (and FJ Cruiser) wheels that have the perfect offset to clear 255/80r17 or 255/85r16 tires

OET? If you meant OEM, they are 7-7.5”and yes many people have put skinny 33s on them. The popularity of the size is that it is a 33” diameter tire that requires little or no modifications.

Unfortunately, literally right after I bought 33" 255/80/17 Wildpeak tires & 17" rims, Wildpeaks came out with a 33" 255/85/16 tire. I would have kept my oem 16" rims, and bought those.

Oh well. Although I still prefer Duratracs over Wildpeaks, I do like my pizza cutter 17" Wildpeaks.
