All I have to say is IFS with a diesel = broken CV joints and lots of them.

We have a 2004 6.0 at work. It's in the shop about every 6 months or so. We put $6,000 into it between Oct. and January. It's only got like 120K on it.

Don't know much about DMax's, but I've heard that they often have injector issues. Not sure, though.

And yes, lack of SFA in a diesel is a bit...well, it's not bad, but sometimes you prefer the simplicity and strength of a SFA when towing large amounts.

Man it seems like cummins is the only way to go, if I could find a mega cab that would be sweet

Mega Cabs are sweet, I'm trying to find myself one. The Cummins I have currently is a crew cab long-bed, great for work, but considering I don't throw stuff in the bed all the time, the Mega Cab will be fine for hauling a 5th-wheel and the work I do alongside my brother and dad. It's either that or an older 7.3 Ford, but it's hard finding one without an assload of miles!

FYI, my dad has an '05 6.0 with 160k miles, and it was a pain in the ass the first 10k miles he had it, but no problems since then. The EGR did go out recently, but not that big a deal from what I remember.

My brother has an '08 6.4 with about 95k miles and not a single problem. Some exhaust cleaning bullshit, but it was fixed by the dealer in a day.
