Love my Dyson, it was pricey but I've heard they last a long time. I had to check if i had a Skewp. I was disappointed when i found the results lacking. Need more Skewps.

So I bring up this question... Do you guys that say this thing is awesome actually personally use it on the regular for cleaning more than the front seat of your truck?

I'm a single guy so I use my dyson myself for carpet and furniture and everything else, and I think it's all around average. Especially if I paid $400 for the thing. The wand is annoying, as Lisa mentioned. It sucks alright but I've clogged the wand many times because its so narrow. It is very cheap for the money and my parents' Hoover feels much sturdier and does just as well.

We use it at home all the time and it is way better than any vaccuum we've had before including an Electrolux , my only complaint would be that the " cyclonic chamber" is next to impossible to clean , I generally blow it out with compressed air .

I also think it is important to wash the filter regularly

    She's asked for 1 for 11yrs :)

It wasn't the only gift tho, I showered her with a ton of stuff she wanted but would only hint at cuz she knew we didn't need it or have the money.

Im not done yet.....ill have to see how my tax return is after being out of work most of the year from the shoulder surgery. Then we will see what else I can get her.....im thinking a shopping spree for clothes and dinner/hot tubs.

I've given her a lil over a grand and told her to spend it on herself....but she wont, she blows it on groceries, stuff for the house, the kitchen, and me....so I need to force her to spend money on herself.....she rlly is a homebody tho and she loves cooking and such. I work anywhere frome 8-16hrs a day and that overtime is forced and we are basically in a bunker with guards at the door....if they say u no leave...u no leave. So she's always spending money on the house when I give it to her and she always says "I wanna take care of you and help around here since u work so much".

Combined with me supporting her through school, and the next 2yrs of RN classes.....I try to make things easy on her and spoil her :(

Anything to distract her.....we are coming up on the aniversary of Ryans death and its gunna be hard for all of us.

I rephrased my question. I mean personally do you use it yourself for all that stuff? Like I said when I use mine are everything, it's not as impressive as if I used the thing once a month to clean a spot here and there. I don't see the wow factor in it that everyone else does I guess.

My family has one, my mom is usually the one that uses it now. I used to use it for my room and it was so much better than any other one we had. We had gone through a few vacuums within a few months until we got the dyson. That was about 6 years ago and we still have the same one.

Here at school my parents gave me a Bissell to use and it sucks! idk if its clog at the floor mount or what but it just doesn't work. I think the hose works so it probably is clogged but either way its no comparison to our dyson.

My wife had one. It worked well until her son decided to use it to clean the fireplace with embers still glowing.

Never worked quite well after that. We have a central vacuum now.

I have one of the small bagless cordless dysons, and it is awesome, but then again, I am in a small studio apartment.

it works great for me though.

We have the Dyson Animal and it works wonders. Especially owning an english bulldog that sheds like crazy. Great on carpet and bare floors. Before we used our Dyson, I vaccuumed the entire living room at a slow rate and I though it had done a great job. Afterr using the Dyson we were amazed at how much more trash it picked up. Well worth the money IMO.

Best vacuum we have owned by a long shot. We used to kill an upright vacuum about once a year between wife and dog hair. Since buying the dyson we haven't had that problem. It works great, and I think the best part about the Dyson is its designed to be taken apart and cleaned when needed. If you never clean it you can have problems.

Im not sure which model it is, I think ours is the DC18 upright with the ball. To me it is money well spent.

Check out a Kirby vacuum. You'll never have to buy another vacuum the rest of your life. They have a lifetime warranty/rebuild program. We've had ours for several years now and the thing is awesome.

We have a dyson animal model. Had it for 5 years now and still good as new. No complaints from us.

On a customer service note, the main hose ripped at the top handle from abuse :anonymous:. I called dyson and explained what happen and they immediately sent us a brand new replacement hose :). I had no issues with the call, it was quick and painless unlike most customer service calls.
