Anyone have a fix for this?

so I have read a few threads about the buzzing sensation in the steering wheel and gas pedal on the 3rd gen Tacoma’s. I have a 2019 TRD OR with 700 miles and it’s got that slight buzz sensation through the steering wheel and pedal right at 2k rpms. It’s similar to riding a dirt bike or atv how you feel the engine.

I guess it’s not a huge deal and I can live with it but has anyone found a fix for this? Any TSBs? I guess this issue goes all the way back to some of the first 3rd gens.

The sensation is not a vibration but more a buzz. Think of holding an electric tooth brush but it’s not that strong.

Iv yet to take a long trip so I’m hoping the buzzing won’t bother me to much since the truck stays around 2k rpm much of the time

I just picked up a 17 Sport last week and noticed the same thing. It happens between 2000-2300 rpms. Luckily my brother has a 16 Taco and I was able to confirm his does it as well so I'm assuming it's normal. On that note though, when I turn my truck off I hear a hissing sound briefly, sounds like it's under the rear driver's side door, is that the gas evap?

Thanks for commenting! Yes I assumed it was normal as well bc I have a 2019 brand new truck and it does it exactly as you said between 2-2300rpm.

Just wanted to clarify so I’m not worrying about nothing

I'm curious to hear what others say as well but I'm fairly certain it's normal.

I am too. If there is a fix I’d probably do it but if not I’m not upset about it

IIRC, there wasn't a specific TSB for this, but dealers were applying a driveline vibration TSB that included a steering damper.
    It was mostly ineffective.

FWIW, I have never experienced the sensation in my truck. I guess it's abnormal.

Very strange. I was off work today so I stopped by my dealer to ask and I test drove a 19 sport with 12 miles on it and it’s the same buzz as my truck. Salesmen thought it felt pretty normal when I showed him. I posted the same question on a Tacoma Facebook group and I’m getting about a 50% split. I literally have 5 people who claim they have it and know what I’m talking about and another 4 just like you that say they have never experienced that.

Maybe some drivers are more sensitive to it and others don’t notice.

Maybe there is a slight variation in tolerances at the factory and 1/2 of them have the buzz.

To clarify the buzz: if you blow through a straw while humming it’s that type or buzz. 2-2300rpm under load. You can feel it in the wheel of you are paying attention for it.

    Hmmmmmmmmm.
