I started with including options in the folding trailer to have a nice acommodation at any place in Texas (AC and Heater), after this I opted to star selecting brands (Jayco -Baja-, Fleetwood-Coleman (E series), then a location where to get the selected model, once this has been defined look for RV salers around your area and request them one by one a quote always taking the cheapest one back and forward with all your salesman until you get the closest, cheapest and more complete RV you can get.

I started with $18,000 with no AC (or with it +500.00) at almost 4 hours from my hometown (South Texas), and ended with a full loaded rv at $13,500.00 at two ½ hours from my home.

I hope this can help you.

At Selma, TX with Crestview RV. We were in the way to Buda, TX when we saw the E3 in their front and turn around to ask for the price and at the end we bought it from them $1,000.00 less than in Buda.

I paid 13.5 for mine from Crestview in Sept 08.
So far I'm not a fan of theirs. I went to the one in Georgetown and they gave me one price. Went to the one in Buda and they gave me another. I was haggling between the same dealer in 2 different cities. Same goes for their parts and service. I wish I had another Fleetwood/Coleman dealer around here I could take it to because I'm tired of having to go back and forth between the two just to get a better price.
HOWEVER...the one in Georgetown always tells me they charge the same as the one in Buda but I've learned that's not entirely true.

Well you are totally right (about price mismatch), when I mentioned "in the way to Buda, TX" I had a price of $14,000.00 from Crestview RV at Buda and undecided if a add at that time the AC (extra $500.00), then the big opportunity at Crestview RV in Selma, TX they told me their price and I just held there until I finished the deal, but from all brands and models (the Fleetwood Evolution 3) was my favorite: size, ammenites, presentation and of course price. I met a great technician at this RV Store if you are around he can do certified job out of store in his hours, ask for Tony, he is a short guy and with Latin appareance, he is very knowledgeable in all kind of RVs.

For parts or RV accesories if not in warranty best thing to do (10%) go an make yourself a member of Camping World and get all your needs from them, they have almost the same price plus you discount, sometimes they have clearance items you may need.

What do you have for TV / Satellite signal reception?

I keep a coax cable in the pup for campgrounds that offer cable access. Otherwise the tv is used only a bedtime for the kids to watch movies on dvd.

We have also started a tradition of having an "outdoor movie night" on the last night of a camping trip. I'll set up the tv on a table under the awning and we'll watch a movie...make smores/marshmellows...and just have a family night.
We've had a few people come by and join us but for the most part it'll be just me, wife and the kids.

Nice idea, asking this because nature (going outdoors) calls at anytime, on our trip to Bastrop happens to be the Olympics opening ceremony and I tried several minutes (like 1hour) to try to install a Satellite dish, but I was not able to finish it, I was prepared with a rabbit antenna but the TV station had no enough power to provide a clear signal reception. And I'm on the middle to do something else that is why I'm asking for any new ideas.

I was really against the idea of getting a tv. My wife talked me into it but it's for the kids. At the end of the night when it's time to get ready for bed I don't mind if they watch a movie to help them fall asleep.
They, especially my son, get enough tv at home. Any chance I can get him away from the tv, I'll do it.

During the daylight time everyone is outside, biking, fishing, trail walking, playing some sport, but my kids, 4, 9 and 13 are demanding on anything around the TV, specially when there is no light outside. Not to mention when live news are in need like weather or very special programs (like the olympics) do you need it.

But outdoors is that. We all enjoy it.

Great!, thanks I will, for sure our next trip will be to Cedar Hill State Park at Cedar Hill, TX. 5 miles south of Dallas-Ft. Worth area. After this trip and during Summer we will visit a nice park (not a SP) at Kerrville, TX (Hill Country) it is by the Guadalupe River, we did not visit it during this easter weekend because it was packed with visitors and there was no place for anyone tent, pop-up or rigs. Then at least two trips for fishing (Choke Canyon SP) and/or both trips to Falcon SP, before the start of Hunting Season I like to visit Bastrop again (I like to be there on cool days).

Hopefully we can do all of these trips. See you there and lets keep contact.

    Regards.

The one in Kerrville....is that the Guadalupe River RV Resort?

We spent a week there during Spring Break and loved it. The kids stayed busy...wife and I relaxed. The place is awesome and we will be going back for sure!!

I'll post up a few pics I took. It really is a great place.

Wow! Are you a professional photographer? if not you should be, awesome photos... Yes this is the RV park I mentioned... you make me think re-scheduling this year plan, How many days before you request a space at this park? two weeks prior to my visit were not enough.

Thanks for the photos are nice.

I am looking at the this model myself, but I am concerned about the tongue weight when hauling a quad or a couple of dirtbikes on the front. What has been your results with around 600-700 pounds on the front? Do you tow with an load equalizer hitch? Also how well does the tacoma do pulling this trailer up hills and grades? Does it keep up with traffic or does it feel like its low on power? Any input would be awesome!

You will need a WDH to properly distribute the whole added weight, on Texas (plain) highways I see no problem with the Tacoma pulling this model even with that amount of weight, it definitely will reduce its speed when in pronounced grades (but only going up... jijiji), but if you are fine with 55MPH at 2,500RPM or maybe 3,000RPM for about less than a minute then is a good to go. HEADWIND, that is a big concern, our square trucks have a big impact from it. So be prepare for more gas station visits.

    Regards.

2 weeks isn't enough. I booked it a couple of months prior to Spring Break and they were all most full at that point.
The GM told me the place is a lot of fun during the summer holidays. They have bands play in the park all day and night with FREE BBQ AND FREE BEER!!!!!

I don't pretend to be a photographer. I just have a nice point and click camera as well as the eye for seeing something really cool to be photographed. I want to get a really nice camera but I like the one I have for now. It seems to do well for what I need it to do.
    Thanks for the compliment though.
