What about a Rockwood 1640ESP. I didn't think I wanted a popup but looking at one today maybe it would work. Anyone have experience with Rockwood? Thoughts?

I’m gonna bring this back again.

Just picked up an 07’ Palomino 4125. It’s in great shape ! Got what I feel like is a real good deal after some research on the web of other listings, $3300 cad (around $2500 USD).

Going to be hauling it with an 18’ DCLB Sport, I think it’s about 1950 dry and GVWR is 2980. Shouldn’t be any issues there.

Just curious about a weight distribution hitch with such a light trailer? Good idea? Bad idea? I’m just considering it to reduce the sag on the back springs, but maybe I’m better off just to put a helper spring in. It has electric brakes and I’ve been meaning to install a controller anyways so that’s on the list as well.

I doubt you need WDH on a 2000# trailer with essentially zero wind resistance to push your truck around. Before you spend all the money on WDH, go to a CAT scale and see how you're weighted compared to your rear axle's rating. WDH is technically never a bad idea, I just don't know if it necessary with less than 300# tongue weight.

I’ve had a Rockwood 1910ESP for two years now and it has been great so far for my family. I’ve towed it all over with the Jeep I had prior to the Tacoma. In a couple weeks I’ll be taking it out for the first time this year and first time pulling it with the Tacoma. Once it starts getting into the 40s at night it gets a little cold, even with the heater and heated mattress.

Eventually we will move up to a travel trailer, but it isn’t something that’s absolutely necessary. I just want bunks for the kids and hopefully something that will stay a little warmer so I can extend our camping season.

I do all of the setup and in 20-30 minutes I can have it fully up or torn down. I think the only different between mine and the 1640 is that the 1910 has that extra storage at the front. The storage goes all the way across and has a lid so it’s accessible from the top when the camper is closed up. I think the storage bin in the front is crucial.

We've got a Coleman Santa Fe. I pass people on the way up to Tahoe if they don't kill my momentum first. Love this little truck. We're looking for a hard-sided camper now that we don't really need space for the kids.

We had a popup for about a year and ended up upgrading to a travel trailer. Popup was fun but damn the TT has a much better layout and features. But cost more money.

I have a Rockwood 232ESP. Dry weight is just under 3K. We absolutely love the trailer. I load it down with my quad and all our gear and the truck does fine with it. Been over some steep grades too.906ACF31-1456-4D9F-BE68-FC9C8749C3CF.jpg 324AAC2E-C754-4446-803A-8F30D1415D97.jpg

finally found a camper! picked up a Livin' Lite Quicksilver 10.00 offroad/LP version. these things are very unique... made of aluminum everywhere, lightweight, has a sink/heater/gas hookups/ plenty of storage. absolutely no wood to rot. big inside. took on two trips and tacoma pulls it like a dream. read more about it at my article here: https://dirtnsmores.com/we-bought-a-livin-lite-quicksilver-10-0-camper-trailer/
