I am so bummed. I crossthreaded one of my new maxtrax mounting pins, and destroyed it in the process of getting the bolt off. I would hate to have to buy a whole new set of 4. Does anyone happen to have a spare single pin they would sell me?

    Appreciate it.

That sucks, those things are a wee bit pricey.

How exactly did you manage to cross thread them?

Buy a die and rethread it?
Are you sure only the male part is messed up, not the nut also?

I actually don't know that it was cross threaded. Thats my guess, although it may have something due to with the nylon lock thingy inside the nut. I'm not totally sure, other than the nut seized up about 30% down the 10mm shaft. I couldn't turn it... period. It went from turning like butter to 'stopped' and I with all my weight, I couldn't get it to budge either left or right.

I never followed up with this thread, but I gotta hand it to Maxtrax. Emailed 'em and without so much as a heartbeat they sent me a replacement pin at no cost. I was back in business within about a week.

Since then I had another member reach out to me with the same experience and great customer service.

I need the same. Was thinking of seeing if three other people want to split a set, but I'll reach out to MaxTrax and see if I can get the same love.
