Good for you. If you tell me where you live, I'll come over after while and pat you on the back. What did you intend to accomplish by sharing that with the group? You're not really adding anything to the conversation, but I do appreciate that information.

Y'all, did you know that his dog will stay where he tells it? Fascinating stuff.

    What size?

rip out the back seats and strap down a gunner or similar kennel. That’s my plan for when my dog swims in the bay and needs to be contained.

I’d look up one of the companies that makes the dividers for cargo vans. Bet they have something you can make work.

Biggest problem I have with the dog is that he likes to lean over the seat back and lick my ear.

That’s the point. You won’t need a physical barrier if you train a dog. Sorry if I touched a nerve. My response wasn’t meant as bragging or anything. My dog sucks in other departments.

    goid luck with your solution.

It's not just about the dog being trained to not move, it's about the safety of a dog in a motor vehicle crash. Unrestrained pets often sustain major injuries in a crash, much like human passengers if not held with some type of restraint device. Just talk to any EMS first responder, who often have to deal with injured pets after a MVC. It is irresponsible to not restrain your pet, not to mention the guilt felt if they were injured because of your own negligence. In my opinion, it is equivalent to not putting your child in a car seat, like a child, a dog does not understand the danger of being unrestrained, and as an guardian, we are responsible to provide them protection. If you truly care about your pets, it is a no brainer, and the dogs adapt very quickly to the devices.

You can easily make a barrier out of a cargo net like this off Amazon. Then just use 4 bungee cords to hook to different points in the cab(seat frame, roof handles, etc..)

Didn't strike a nerve, it's just that your post was less than useless. Just like several other replies here. Y'all are just as annoying as the people who, day after day, post repetitive questions without using the search function - only in a different manner.

Thank all of you who have offered genuine suggestions and ideas that related to the question at hand. I think I figured out what I'm going to do.

And to the hell with the rest of you who only came to rattle off asinine, self-serving nonsense. Work on your comprehension skills, and failing that, work on learning to shut your mouth if you don't add anything to a conversation. Both are exceptionally useful in today's world, but on this echo chamber masquerading as a Tacoma forum it seems a waste of time to suggest such a thing.
