Anyone out there who still wondering about the Truetrac with third gens - I have one installed in my 22 Sr5 rwd v6. In terms of the performance, I highly recommend it. Can’t even tell it’s there during normal driving. But if I want to get rowdy and kill the traction control, it slides like a mustang! No more one tire fires. And off road performance has also improved, the factory auto lsd is sort of weak and the Truetrac engages well with auto lsd in one wheel situations. Some sort of built rear end is necessary in my opinion if you’re 2wd. In terms of install/parts, for my truck with the 8inch rear open diff, you will need:
    Truetrac 913A610
    x2 KOYO TR100802-2 Carrier bearings
The carrier bearings are the only thing that are absolutely necessary for install, as the stock journals are 53mm and the Truetrac is 50mm. If you truck is older and has higher mileage than mine, it also may be wise to change out other seals, bearings, etc. I had mine done at my local transmission shop. Any place that has experience working on differentials should be able to do it.
East Coast Gear Supply is where I got my parts from. They were extremely helpful and had great customer service. If you’re confused about parts needed for install, just send them your truck details and they can help you out. Overall a great mod for those of you who aren’t satisfied with the factory open diff!
