I have so many questions. One of the main ones being, Did you ask the dealership you bought it from what it is? Seems like they might know. Especially if it is some wonky "alarm", if that is the case then they will use the same button on all of the vehicles they install it on.
How do you own a vehicle for 8 months and not press all of the buttons?! I can't do an hour without pressing all the things! You mentioned in one of the replies that you thought it was flush at one point, did you drop it off at the dealership for a day and have them do work? If you did and they took it upon themselves to install an alarm, I personally would go back and share some words with someone.

Instant bank repossession button. Don't press it.

If you already pressed it, uh, they're coming.

Yes that spot is for a manual transmission clutch start cancel button. All autos will be a blank spot. I agree with everyone else here… how do you go 8 months and never notice the button?

It happens. I know a guy who didn’t know he had heated side mirrors for 8 months, thought that switch must be rear window defroster based on the symbol.

My 19 SR doesn't have a bacon maker and this makes me sad. But, then again... Toyota didn't even put an intermediate wiper setting or make the wipers go a couple times when you spray the windshield lol...
Would rather have a bacon maker though.

Well at least you got a side mirror defroster switch. If you haven’t added the intermittent wiper stalk already that’s easy to do, search here on TW and youtube for instructions. My first upgrade lol.

I used my windshield cleaner spray yesterday and still blows my mind that Toyota was like "3 radars, automatic cruise control? Yes! Intermediate wipers and wipers going a couple times when you spray the windshield like every single car since 1999? No, who the hell needs that in a base model?!"

Same here, first time I found TW when doing a Google for adding the intermittents. I had a Mustang in high school without them and remember buying something at a department store to wire up so I knew it could be done, found TW almost 10 years ago

    @codenomics @ABA180
The lack of intermittent wipers was the one thing I missed on my test drive lol. I assumed all modern vehicles had those. o_O
Still would have bought it, too good a deal to pass up. They did add them to the later SR models.
I laughed when he showed me the hard key for the SR. Didn’t think I would miss keyless entry until one day I was on the passenger side to open the door and no key hole lmao. So yep, added keyless entry now. And fog lights. TW a big help with doing those upgrades. Was actually fun to learn the circuit wiring for my truck and electrical/controls systems work is my background.

Just fyi, my old 2009 DCSB OR had a similar button when I bought it new. It was a red led control push button for a "remote keyless entry upgrade security system" which included glass break sensors. I still have the little booklet that came with it but it doesn't have any brand name printed anywhere and probably was just a dealer or regional distributor add-on.

As did I. Saw it the first night out with a buddy when it began misting.

I knew my truck was basic as a 2WD single cab but that I would not have expected though.

See... This is why I shouldn't have bought a used truck! Missed out on the cool factory options when you order one new!

Do you have a train horn set up you are not aware of?

If it's an aftermarket alarm thing. I don't know why people instal AM alarms, that won't stop someone from stealling a vehicle, that someone wants to steal.
