I cringe at going to any local alarm/stereo/bed liner, etc. shop, as they don't have good reviews around my area... The alarm used to blink the lights twice and lock the doors, with a slight noise and dash light flashing when it was armed. It now blinks twice but does not make the noise and lock the doors, but doesn't arm and can just be opened up with the key. I called the manufacturer and they said I would have to find the valet switch, for them to help me reset. I can find no valet switch anywhere under the dash and it has no valet button per the photo. Anyone have any experience with this? Could it be just a low battery in the remote? Thank you for any help!

It wouldn't be the remote since your parking lights are still flashing meaning there's communication.

You may need to track where the brain of the alarm is located then look for the wire going to the switch/button. Most likely it's tucked under the dash or under the kick panel. Some alarm installers put it under the seat.

If it doesn't have a valet button on the remote, can it still have a valet mode? Thx for the reply.

Yes, valet mode has nothing to do with what buttons the remote has. Do you have an LED somewhere on the dash that was added to blink when the alarm was armed? If you do and it is solid it's in valet mode. Two ways to take it out 1) open door press lock/ulock/lock. Second find the valet switch under the dash near the kick panel then put the key to the on position (not running) and press the valet button once.

But there is a chance the alarm could have just frozen, it happens some times on the lower end DEI stuff. To reset it just find the alarm brain. Its a little black box with a main plug containing 1 maybe 2 red wires a yellow wire a pink, pink/white, and a black wire. Unplug that for 30 seconds then plug it back in. Alarm will most likely start to sound hit unlock button twice to silence/shut off.

Well, I disconnected the wiring coming into the bottom, no change. I disconnected the top wiring, no change. The alarm didn't go off and the led is still solid. Any other thoughts please?IMG_1098.jpg IMG_1098.jpg IMG_1097.jpg

Those four plugs are antenna, valet switch, door locks, and led there is another plug on the long side that is the plug you are looking for.

Did you try pushing the valet button with the door open and key on? Also on some of the newer models of the alarm the valet button is the led.

I found the valet button (looks just like the one you pictured). I tried the open door/key on/valet button to no avail. I unplugged the main harness, waited and replugged. The led just remained on and no alarm.

Do you have a led light on the dash or on the alarm brain? Red or blue? What is the led light doing at all times?

It is on the dash and a steady blue. It will come on part of the time when the door is opened or after shutting the truck off, steady blue. I leave the truck and at some point it goes off. It could be 10 minutes or two hours. Thank you all for your help.

Unless there is something wrong with the brain it’s most likely in “valet mode”. You can take it out of valet mode 2 different ways.
    1. Open drivers door then hit lock aux lock on the remote. NOT FAST but not slow. Maybe a second in between
    2. Open drivers door. Turn key to the on position ( right before start ) then to the off position then tap the valet button.
Close the door then try the lock/unlock button and see what happens
