Thinking of making a Cyber Monday purchase, but wanted to get some feedback first. All my previous head units were Alpine, so I'm not familiar at all with JVC stuff. I would need this thing to last 2-3 years at least. Anyone have any input as to whether this is a good unit at a good price?

I've never been a fan of JVC as the audio output isn't that great. But I haven't played with this HU so I can't say if it is good or bad. I'd stick to Alpine.

I agree. JVC was bought by Kenwood a few years ago and I've heard that JVCs have been better because of it (no personal experience though). However, you're still better off sticking with an Alpine. You should go to a local car audio store and see how you like the JVCs compared to the others. I think I remember seeing a few nav head units a while back with a demo mode where you can pretend to go on a trip without leaving the store.

I just installed a pioneer AVH-X4600BT. I had an alpine unit before, and all of my previous vehicles have had alpine units. I have always liked Alpine, but I had nothing but problems with my last one. The Pioneer is way more user friendly, IMO. A local Audio shop sold me on it and I'm glad they did
