Most led bulbs look cool from outside the truck but have reduced lighting compared to stock.

I’m running HIKARI ultra, and it’s an improvement over stock. Pretty sure Mr crashnburn80 mentioned them in his thread.

Definitely pass on those, they will be garbage with no focus. They are very thick. Any LED focused on being the highest output will be trash. Higher output will require more mass for thermal management, resulting in thicker designs, which cause loss of focus which then reduces output intensity.

    IMG_1474.jpg

You want the thinnest design possible, so that the output is more focused, which then increases output intensity. Morimoto 2 stroke 3.0 are the most focused on the market and the best PnP replacement LED on the market. However they are easily beat by performance halogen bulbs, or a $9 Philips H9 swap. Halogens in halogen assemblies easily outperform LEDs in assemblies designed for halogen bulbs. It is not currently possible for an LED to accurately mimic a halogen (regardless of what the marketing will try and tell you), meaning LEDs in halogen housings will always be a compromise and unable to perform to the levels of performance halogens that the assembly optics were designed for.

Philips H9 in the low beam, as covered in post #2 in the thread posted earlier. Best H11 for the low beam is the Tungsram Platinum. Best in the high beam is also Philips H9s (stock). If you use your high beams a bunch, halogen output degrades over the life of the bulb and a fresh set can bump output 20%+. Putting an LED in the high beam will cause more scatter, or short range flood light, but you'll reduce the hot spot in the high beam for distance projection, so you won't project as far, which is the point of the high beam. For a real improvement in high beam, it is best to add aux J581 driving lights (aux high beams):

GE lighting was bought out by their partner Tungsram. The company is now Tungsram. The +130s were out performed by the +120 Xenons, and then the Platinums outperformed the +120 Xenons. The best H11 is the Tungsram Platinums. Not sure why these are sold out everywhere, but they can be found on eBay.
