I personally think they look ridiculous, but I dislike fender flares in general (hence why my truck doesn't have any). Just my opinion.

I'm considering getting a set since my red flares are fading badly, and the cost of having them removed, line-x coated and reinstalled is almost the same as an installed set of Bushwhackers. The whackers are a bit wider, so that will help to keep the truck a bit cleaner, I would think.

I have some questions about running Bushwhacker's as well. I'll admit, I like the look of stock muchhhh better, but I have one back flare that is in bad shape due to a blowout and another that is flapping. I though that the clips were just busted, but the entire mounting brackets are actually broken off. I can almost get the full set of Bushwhacker's for what one flare will cost me new OEM. I know I'll be out a little extra for painting four instead of one, but still.

My concern is rubbing. My tires already rub the stock flares up front a little. How much clearance am I going to be losing if I switch put on Bushwhackers. Any?

    Thanks in advance everyone.

I like mine. Linex makes them nice and durable. I replaced the stock faux bolts with longer bolts that go through the fender and some nuts and washers to hold them against the truck with ZERO wiggle. I would not recommend the standard installation. Too loose.

I have 265/75R16 BFGs with a 3" lift. Had to trim a tiny bit or I'd get minor rubbing when the steering was cranked. Easy to trim.

I too had faded flares, and weighed the pros and cons on painting my stock flares or upgrading to Bushwackers...here's what I learned in the process:

    A) stock flares were faded; what I didn't realize was one side of my truck was faded more than the other (nothing too extreme) but enough paint techs said they could match the paint close, but fresh paint on the fenders next to faded paint on the truck will no doubt stick out...they assured me I would notice.

    B) parts and labor alone, it was much cheaper to just upgrade to Bushwackers. I was hesitant because I'm not running a lift or aggressive tire size/tread, so I was concerned with having the "I'm trying to look bad@ss" look when really I just want to fix my faded flares. I made the upgrade for function, not appearance.

    C) i really like the change in look of the truck...the Bushwackers are just a bit wider, but nothing to worry about. Plus they're durable, I'm no longer stressing about rogue shopping carts in the parking lot...planning on having them Line-X'ed this summer just to be done with it.

No rubbing before, minimal rubbing with the wheel cranked completely to the left. I need to level the front end anyway, now I have the reason. All in all, very happy with the decision.

I love mine, they're durable and a little wider but not drastically to the point it looks bad. I'm thinking about color matching soon...opinions?

I love mine. Really gives an aggressive but not over the top look to the truck.

Is there a function to larger flares or just looks?

I never really got into them.

They might give a little better protection to the body from road debris if you have wide tires that stick out past the stock flares.

I've just accepted that debris is part of the game. I really like how it looks on the charcoal @2013XSPX I'm just been so skeptical about it on the red. I wish I wasn't a cheap P.O.S. and would just break down and get the bushwhackers and have the entire truck painted.

My heart tells me yes, my student loans tell me no. Then slap me for even considering.
