    I currently carry a s&W .38 special as my concealed weapon. I've recently decided i'd like a full size in a .40 or .45.

Last week i held the glock 22, xdm 40, m&p 40, and the px4 storm. The Beretta storm felt the most comfortable in my hand. I did some pricing and i can get the Storm for 499 new with 2 mags on sale at budsgunshop.com

After looking over some reviews online, i noticed there's a good amount of problems listed a few years ago, but looking through cabelas and budsgunshop customer reviews, they average 4.6-4.9 stars out of 5 with over 80 reviews.

    I haven't officially decided 40 over 45.

Any personal experience would be appreciated.

    Thanks

...haven't owned or shot one, but have handled it, ...it has a nice "heft" to it, but what I didn't like was the safety (extremely stiff, hard to articulate for me), and the fact that it seemed bulky compared to some other options out there... but, as i'm sure you are aware, ...the fit/function is entirely personal... that price sounds like a good deal though...

My buddy has a .40 storm and he loves it, it's his carry

I have fired several mags through it and really liked how it fired, good manageable recoil

I wonder how the recoil on the storm compared between the .40 and the .45.

Can't say I have played with the storm at all. Guess it all depends on the feel. I'll admit....I'm little. So the smaller guns fit my liking. Have you looked at the XD S instead of the XDm? I love my XD S and it conceals away really nicely with a Crossbreed Holster. Just a thought.

I like the idea of it, because it doesn't rely on the standard browning tilt barrel action.

However, I could never buy one, because all of my pistols are equipped with cans.

The rotating locking assembly loosens suppressors in 1-2 shots, and shooting after that is dangerous because baffle strikes will occur.

Like I said, neat idea, but its limited.

Very true, that's one of the problems with it. But don't you need a federal permit for a silencer anyways??

I have even started looking at 1911s...idk...

    What i'm looking for:
    1. Kick the shit out of intruder
    2. Durable/Reliable
    3. Acc. rail
    4. Looks better than a glock

I had one for a while. Hated how it looked but loved how it felt and shot.

Got it in a trade but ultimately sold it. I'm more of a 1911 guy

I used to carry a Browning Hi-Power or a 1911. The most important thing training taught me was how quick I could get shot in a real fight. I now carry guns without a safety catch like the 1911 & hi-power. Glocks, Sigs P228, P226, P250 or most modern design pistols.

I've got my beater RIA 1911 compact and love it. Never had a single issue from it and half the price of a kimber

My first pistol was the px4 storm in .40 at first I loved it until I bought my cz75bd in 9mm but I guess CZ does that to allot of people. I personally feel that the trigger on the pxm storm leaves alot to be wanted as for reliablity and easiness to maintian its rock solid.
