Dodge started offering Aisin transmissions a few years ago, but it may only be on 3500s and up. Don't know the specifics of it, but Aisin is a larger transmission manufacturer than Allison and they make transmissions for large trucks rated for up to around 2000 ft lbs of torque.

The Tacoma and Tundra use Aisin transmissions, and Toyota owns part of the company. The transmission division used to be Aisin-Warner, but now is Aisin AW. If you look under a Tacoma, you'll see the logo on the transmission:

I thought 22 grand for a budget for a used Tacoma 4X4 manual under 100k miles 2007-2014 would buy me the world... (of course hoping to come in well below that)... but apparently in the last 10 years they basically stopped making sticks except in name only. :( The dealerships are c@nts and overvalue their used trucks to make their new stock seem justified in being overpriced as well... even worse than other models I've seen...

I'm just sitting here, with money burning a hole in my pocket (that I get to pay back for 72 months) :)

    You too, huh?
    Ordered a 2006 GMC Crew Cab 1500.
Ran great, no issues with engine and trans, but as soon as my extended 72 month/74k warranty expired, everything else let loose. including all the lines you mentioned plus trans and oil cooler lines.
Oh, I can't forget the silly little intermediate steering shaft that got replaced 3 times before the new version with a grease fitting came out.(a known problem starting in '99 model year).
4WD also came on and off at random until they fixed that too.

OTOH, I also had a '96 Chevy 1500 extended cab with a real 350 and 1st year Vortec injection.
Bought it new in Oct'95 and I loved that truck. Never gave me any trouble.

Kinda hypocritical isn't it? Since all religion is based on belief and no science is ever involved in it?

No. I based them on facts. Facts that I've seen first hand over a long career with these shitty truck. You want to know the truth about the reliability of any car. Ask a mechanic.

Exactly. Some are good, some are bad. Just like trucks. Toyota is good. Ford is bad.

For :censored: sake just give it up, we get it. Ford's have tickled your mechanic's brown eye without your consent and Toyotas have been a never ending source of fellatio. Move. On.

your comparing apples to oranges when you compare ford trucks to Toyota trucks. I know a lot of people that have owned ford trucks over and have had zero issues. 4.6s 6.0s 5.0s 7.3s all without issues. even the fords ive owned gave me no issues. I feel like its just what you see more of then that automatically makes it a shit vehicle. I could say dodges are shit cause that's all I worked when I did mechanics....

Hopefully Toyota is giving you some sort of kick back for your incessant bragging. A broken truck is broken. All truck brands break. Period.
