Anyone have experience with Ford/Chevy full sized 4X4s? (Bring gas and matches, flaming begin) :)

The company I used to work for had around 300 trucks mostly Chevy 1500s for the project managers and site workers. A few dozen acadias and yukons for the pencil pushers.

They kept the 1500s till 200k miles and the diesel 2500s to 250k miles. I drove a good number of them at one point or another since they all came through me when an employee changed status, hired fired moved, upgraded or whatever etc. My truck at the company was a 2500 access cab short bed with a 35 foot gooseneck to haul equipment around. I was upwards of 24,000 lbs fully loaded and that thing was a beast.

I also owned a 2010 Chevy 1500 Z71. I bought it with 35k on the clock which is very low for a 5 year old truck. The guy used it to haul his kids to games and go out for dinner. I traded it for 5k less than supposed "blue book and NADA", they wouldn't budge.

I was never ever pleased with the quality on any of the "not new" Trucks or SUVs. The acadias were rattle traps and constantly were in the shop. The 1500 and 2500s were decent, just cheap plastic that I felt would crack if you pushed on it too hard.

The new Trucks, however, 2015 and 2016s, were gorgeous. Very plush and not cheap feeling, however, the feeling that you were driving a 1500 disappeared and it felt like you were in a crossover. The 2500s were incredible.

I've also spent a good bit of time this summer in a Chevy 2500 gasser 4x4 extra long cab and 8 foot bed. I drove several hundred miles in 4x4 on the beach last week and it was very enjoyable besides the turning radius of a school bus.

Locally all the kids drive Chevy 1500s and bro lean the hell out of them. They are the cheap option and Ford's are the premium option. I count at least a 10:1 ratio Chevy's to Ford's in my area. All of my experience is just driving these trucks, I've never had to maintain them.

Drove this off the lot tonight. What did I win?

Traded my 2013 F150 V8 for it. 103k miles and never touched a thing under the hood. Tires and brakes only.
