Anyone have factory leather?

Well this is the plant it was assembled at but has since shut down. Don't know where to go from here. Paperwork says its there so it's good enough for me. Don't care much anymore. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NUMMI

 

If a dealer puts it on, it's the dealers incentive and not factory. If Toyotas distributor puts it on, its approved by Toyota and covered under there warrenty, on paper its considered factory. Whether these guys think so or not. I work for Southeast Toyota Distributors, in New car warranty department. We deal with all the recalls and aftermarket parts.

 

I can see if you meet the requirement of toyota to install accessories, it can be covered under factory warranty as you say, but those accessories were not put on at the factory, therefore they are not factory installed or offered from the factory, it would be a misrepresentation of the truth for toyota to lead people to believe something was factory installed when it was not. Toyota may give factory warranty for the add ons such as leather, but toyota would be very honest in saying it was NOT a factory installed item.

 

Is that for a Gen1 or a gen2? Leather is available for gen2's. We are talking about gen1's here. 01-04 model years

Sorry leather not available from factory, look at your dealer brochures from those years not available, toyota says leather not a factory option for 01-04 tacoma trucks, that paper means nothing to me, i was driving toyota trucks before you were born, twice your age and been an avid toyota truck man going back to 1983. You are the one and only person I know wanting to argue the point. I have an 01 limited double cab(no leather), I also have an 03 double cab with leather(not factory). The original owner from whom I purchased the truck from had leather installed from the dealer because it was not available from the factory.

 

You still don't grasp what I'm saying at all. I'm not arguing you anymore.

 

Sounds like you answered your own question. It's obvious that Limited didn't "come" with leather, since you made that clear^
