Anyone have the ACS Leitner bed rack? I bought the new Kuat Ibex and it let me down.

I have a 218 lb hard shell tent on my Kuat Ibex bed rack on my Tacoma, and the bed rack wobbles a little under the weight. I’m looking at heavy duty options, and so the ACS Leitner seems to be the best bet for supporting that kind of weight without any wobble. Does anyone have experience with this bed rack or know of an even better one?

 

There has been a number of post here on the Leitner racks. Google "Leitner racks Tacoma World" and it will give you several different threads.

 

I've never owned one, but my complaint with the Leitner racks is that they occupy bed space. I would not want any of my minimal bed real estate occupied by a rack.

But they are very strong.

 

I have the Leitner forged ACS and it is bomber. With a Kabari tent, 270 awning, and stuff mounted to the rack it is solid. Yes, there are supports down to the bed, but with those you don’t need bed stiffeners.
